There are a lot of NPC clones in our worlds. They’re drawn from the inZOI zoi presets. They seem to wear the same outfits, too, unless one has a work outfit.
It’s strange to see the clones, but I understand there needs to be a pool of zois to draw from for the random NPCs around town. I don’t mind that the game doesn’t randomize outfits and hair, etc. of those inZOI zoi presets.
What I want is to create my own pool of NPC zois!
I always make a lot of zois, but I prefer to play one household per game. In other words, I make more zois than I will likely ever play. I want to be able to add them to a collection marked as NPC zoi templates. Whenever I make a new zoi in CAZ, I choose to save them to the NPC collection, or my primary zoi presets section.
I played one game where I added many custom characters to houses around the city, so they would be potential friends and lovers for my household members. That was a lot of fun, and I had the zois I played gravitate toward those “custom NPCs” of mine.
Please allow us to add zois of all ages to a pool of zoi presets the game can draw from whenever a new NPC is generated (in addition to the inZOI zoi presets).
If we create enough of our own zois (or download ones we like), then we’d have a much lower chance of seeing an NPC zoi who’s an exact clone of another!
I like the idea. I love customizing the world I play in as much as possible, including the people who live there. I already play several families, but I’d like the characters I don’t play to be customizable as well.
I had asked a question in one of the AMAs and on discord long ago as soon as the early access had come out – what is the use of having hundreds of zois uploaded on canvas if I can use only one or two in my game at a time (the zois I create or download. At that time there were no cheats to change NPC appearance). Even if I like say 20 creations on canvas, I am unable to effectively have them in the game. So why would I download them from Canvas?
So I had this question whether NPCs get created based on what is available in my local CAZ pool. I never got a reliable answer. So thanks for making this suggestion.
This feature if implemented will benefit hundreds of creators of Zois on Canvas. Players will download more from Canvas to create NPCs in their games.
I was just about to add a new topic about this . I’d also love to meet an NPC on the street with Zoe’s appearance downloaded from Canvas or created by me. And I have a similar suggestion that NPCs should wear outfits saved by me as templates. Right now everyone walks around dressed the same
I feel like the clothing store is the best way to do that, but perhaps they will come up with an independent career of stylist or fashion designer!
Customers could request a new outfit, and when they try it on, they can hate it and all you earn was the down payment made when they create an order, they like it and buy it at the agreed price, or love it and give a tip. Of course, the reaction have to be a bit random and influenced by personalities and career levels, but that’s something I also really want.
It could tie-in with a future celebrity system because celebrities want custom styles, and stylists could become celebrities as well.
This is a great suggestion @Starwing ! I would love to see more variation in the NPC pool, both regarding their personality, appearance and clothing.
Exactly the suggestion to take this from our own CAZ pool also came to my mind when this was discussed in another thread here 加强NPC的不可替代性,并强化游戏的长期动力 - #3 by EllaEstella
By the way regarding the outfits the clothing store is really the one which makes a difference here. Since I have one in my city I see more and more Zois running around in those outfits all over the city. Only issue is that this also becomes repetitive if you do not have enough different outfits in the shop or do not change these frequently.
You can use the customzoi cheat to make your own looks for NPCs. I’ve already done most of my NPCs in Bliss Bay. The variety is fantastic. There’s one zoi in a Hawaiian shirt, another goes around topless in shorts and flip-flops. I’ve got pink hair, red hair, purple braids, bald women, men with black dreads, and goth make-up. I have a druid-looking zoi, one who wears a black horse head and another wearing a light-up black and turquoise fox mask with a gold silk shirt and leather trousers. I absolutely love seeing my NPCs walking around.
