I think this should be really easy to implement and would give so much in terms of gameplay as it would kind of give a new way to earn money without having a regular job. I currently really do not understand the concept or idea behind increasing your instrument or singing skills. Even if you get to level 10 there is really no benefit for this. The Zoi cannot go out and perform singing or playing instrument for money. On the other side this seems to be so easy to implement because everthing else is already in the game, except the money earning part. Is this something which is planned for the next updates?
What is even more strange is that you can donate 100 right away when somebody is playing and the Zoi even does this autonomosly but nobody gets this money.
100%, and as you say, it shouldnât be hard to implement as all the elements are there already. They just need to create a âbuskingâ event very similar to the current one for sales.
I had very interesting observation today. I did not spend so much time bringing the singing skill up anymore lately because there was no possibility to earn any money with it. But today I had one Zoi with singing level 8 and he performed in the park an received 5 times 100$ during he performed. I was not clear or visible where it actually came from or from whom but he received money. Only explanation would be from singing.
This was definitely not the case in my earlier saves and this was also not the case with the same Zoi at singing level 6 just yesterday. Has this been added and is maybe not fully impemented yet as you don´t see where the money is coming from?
Will test in again soon to see if this is permanent or just a one time event.
@EllaEstella I think it was implemented. My Zoi was busking yesterday by singing in front of the guitar case, and three Zois tipped her 100. I think she was still level 6, maybe early 7. It hadn´t happened before, but yesterday it did. I think it might depend on the time and place. If more Zois are passing by, the chances of getting tipped seem higher.
@ecaerys you are right! I payed more attention next time he performed a song and really you see other Zois tipping him each time 100. With now level 9 in singing he earned 800 with one song. This worked for me on the beach at Bliss Bay (I installed a new microphone at the Beachvolleyball lot) and also in the Park (with the fountain).
I honestly tried it just in Dowon at the Harang River Park. I also had to put in my own microphone, since the one that was already there wasn´t interactable. So I honestly think the town doesn´t matter. You just need the guitar case and be on a street where people pass by or are spending time.
Tested even more and yes it does not matter where you do it. Only there need to be other Zois around / walking by. Now I installed a microphone at the Clover park and he is also getting tips. So it seems to work reliably now after the Zoi reaches certain level (seems to be 7 or 8).
One more question though as I do not have a Zoi with the needed level for an instrument to test it at the moment. Can somebody confirm if this also works for playing instruments?
If so I would change the subject of the thread to âalready implementedâ or similar.
I think from the conversation that I am seeing. I think the guitar case matters. My Zoi is level 10 singing because he is in the K-Pop career and I got no tips despite people watching me. I will ASSUME it is the guitar case that generates you tip? Or maybe my Zoi got sooo unlucky, I only tested this once.
That´s right. I also only received tips with the guitar case, otherwise not.
Would still be interested if somebody has checked that with a Zoi with a high instrument level. Do this also bring tips? Should be the case but my current Zois are to low on instruments to test it.
I tried it out; it only seems to work when you use a guitar case, and busk using the standing mic rather than clicking on your Zoi to busk (or at least I havenât been able to get any money that way). Earning money seems a bit inconsistent; sometimes Zois do the tipping animation but you donât get any money (perhaps because they donât have enough funds?) It should really be possible to tip amounts less than 100 Mew.
Iâm not sure the guitar stand even has a busking interaction. Thereâs an option for âBusk with guitarâ when clicking on your Zoi, but that seems to depend on Performance rather than Instrument skill, and as mentioned I canât get it to work anyway.
I did some additional testing. Even though my instrument level is only at level 2 I did a very surprising observation.
So if you just play the mounted guitar, even if near to the guitar case for tips: you get no tips for playing an instrument.
But if you place the Zoi really near to the guitar case and then use the self-action âstart doing street music with guitarâ then you actually get tips.
The surprising part: she has only instrument level 2 and received 800 for doing street music with guitar for about 3 hours or so. With singing my other Zoi only started to receive tips at Level 7/8.
Great! So now it just needs some improvements, e.g.:
Sort out the options so that clicking on yourself to to sing or the guitar to âbusk with guitarâ allows for tips. The latter should only be available if thereâs a guitar stand nearby / in your inventory.
Allow NPCs to tip different amounts according to how much money they have and how well your Zoi is singing/playing. If they donât have any funds, they shouldnât do the âgiving tipâ interaction at all.
Allow the sales money jar to be used for tips as well as the guitar case.
Making the default microphone / guitar objects in parks etc. interactable.
Looking forward to giving my singer Zoi the performing career sheâs always dreamed of!
Would be great to not be binded to the guitar cases which have to be placed on lots. Why not allow the Zoi to busk for tips and place the money jar on the spot where they would like to do it.
I kind of understand for piano / drums which you probably would not be carrying around in town. But for playing guitar and also the microphone it does not seem too strange to have it with you.
Nevertheless I am really happy we finally can earn money with doing music and performances
