In what category would you vote for InZoi? To be brutally honest, I don’t think it’s ready for any of them yet - maybe next year after full release (I would totally nominate it for ‘Labor of Love’ in a year or two if the devs keep up this pace of updates). It’s a very promising game, but so clearly unfinished that it would have a hard time competing against other games that are much more polished.
Since not that many will nominate it and I don’t even think it will make it to the final votes, for me, it’s just to show a bit of love for inZOI ![]()
I respect Lenny’s thoughts. I remember a moment at TGA 2022 when GOTY was obviously Elden Ring (just like Clair Obscur now), but players, simply out of sympathy, voted for the rather raw Sonic Frontiers, while another camp supported Genshin. It even got to the point where Frontiers was pulling so far ahead that miHoYo started giving out primogems for votes. Why did such hype happen with Sonic? Simply to show that the franchise is moving in the right direction (the first title with huge open zones = open world.)
inZOI is no exception to the rule, and in the final category it can even advance. It doesn’t have to be better than Megabonk or whatever else. Actions like these are sometimes valued more than sales or overall quality, because brand recognition works better in the long run than stats and metrics.
OK, you guys won me over. I nominated it for ‘Outstanding Visual Style’ and ‘Sit Back and Relax’. I couldn’t do ‘Labor of Love’ as it hasn’t been out for a year yet, but next year for sure.
Just saw this and missed the nomination period by one day
i agree, its the thought that counts!
