How does the steam review counter work?

For this post, I took a screenshot of the reviews 3 days ago, and I just read on discord that the positive reviews significantly increased, so I looked again.
Can it be that there are more than 500 recent reviews in just 3 days or am I getting this wrong?
Most of them positive, since they changed the rating from ‘mixed’ to ‘mostly positive’.
And why so many now - between the updates, in a pretty boring time?
If 500 reviews in 3 days were the normal, inZOI would have already 40.000 reviews and not only 11.000(?)
And the total count seems not correct. The recent reviews increased by 539, but the total english reviews just by 155. Or are the recent reviews are all languages?
But looking at the review count for all languages, it seems weird that the majority of all those new reviews is not english. According to that count, at least half of the reviews should be english.
Disclaimer: inZOI is the first game I play for longer (and follow) on steam, so I’m not very familiar with that system.
