Make Zoi always use the dressers in THEIR room.

Now I don’t know if the game can understand the concept of a “Room” or not.
Based on Build-mode, I would think they do.

So when you send a zoi to sleep, say from the living room downstairs.
They will go to the closest dresser, change there, then go in their assigned bed to sleep.

What needs to happen is :

  • They go to the dresser located the closest to their bed
  • But also from one which is in their own room (this prevents going to the other room because it seems closer, just other side of wall).

It’s minor, hence being posted as a suggestion instead of a bug.
But it’s been going for a long time and would be a nice improvement on Zoi behaviors.

Thank you !

Same also for counters. Even though the counter is freely accessable, they run off with their bowls, even two stories down.
It might seem minor, but all these minor things stack up to a major annoyance during gameplay, and break immersion (and the fun)

I also already wondered which dresser/counter they prefer?
That would maybe let us find work arounds until it gets fixed.
The last placed? The most expensive?
It seems so random.

I haven’t noticed if everyone does it, but several of my Zois prefer “basic wardrobe.”

i wrote about this before but all the changing mechanic needs is to use the BED your zoi is assigned to as a base. find the closest dresser/closet to that and have them use it, it’ll almost always be within the same room or area thats CLOSEST from its area (the bed). my zoi’s seem to like wandering into their kids bedroom to use their closet to change and it sucks

The logic for selecting which item to use is a bit messed-up atm. I once had a Zoi who kept using the kitchen sink to wash their hands rather than the one in the bathroom, and I couldn’t work out why. Eventually I realised that since it wasn’t taking account of the wall inbetween, they thought the kitchen sink was closer. Moving the furniture around fixed the problem.

i think its quite universal to actions too, not just dressing. an example is i’m playing in cahaya with a open house, my zois still think its fine to go lay on the towel to tan during a rainstorm, or work out outside when its snowing. i don’t think its a bug so much as the game just isn’t programmed for those considerations yet

Agree with this, it’ll add realism.

Sunbathing at night baffles me as well. They just don’t care. I was watching a stream the other day where the elderly zoi went to sleep on a sunbed that was completely frosted over.

It is a minor but annoying issue and would be great if this would be fixed.

As for the dressers it is also my impression that they always use the one which is the nearest from where the Zoi currently is. And they would never use a clothing rack even if this is the nearest. This is actually strange as you are manually able to change clothes with these racks but seems that it is programmed the way that the Zoi would never use it autonomously.

Similar with the counters or tables for cooked dishes. In one house I noticed exactly this: kitchen in the middle next to the living room but near to the kitchen in the living room there is the door to the hobby room. After cooking the Zoi would never place the dish on the dining table in the living room even if this is the next room because the table it self is a little more far away as the computer desk in the hobby room in terms of pure air distance. So they always put it there. I placed a small end table next to the kitchen in the living room and now they would always put the cooked dishes there. However they never place the dishes on kitchen counters even though these are empty and definitely the nearest to them. Seems a similar thing like with the clothing racks: you can manually put a dish on a kitchen counter but a Zoi would never consider this option autonomously.

Oh my gosh. Yes. For some reason wardrobes have a higher priority than dressers. When you direct a Zoi to go to bed they will seek out the nearest wardrobe as long as it is in the house even when there is a dresser right in front of them. it’s super annoying.

When trying to put Joy to sleep, Joy automatically searches for a wardrobe, but it’s random every time.

There are frequent inefficient situations where Joy, who was supposed to sleep on the 1st floor, goes all the way to the wardrobe on the 2nd floor even though there is a wardrobe on the 1st floor, changes clothes, and comes back.

The wasted travel time is severe and causes inconvenience while playing.

It would be nice if you could add a feature where Joy, who has a designated bed, can only use the closest wardrobe around that bed.

Hi, I will merge this post with the one regarding nearest wardrobe usage. Thanks
