Currently, it’s only possible to surf between 9AM and 7PM, but every surfer knows the best time for surfing are the early morning ours or the late evening.
So please let us surf whenever we want to, since this restriction makes no sense (imo) ![]()

There are a few reason why there are those restrictions, and for me they do add to the immersion.
- After 7pm it is getting darker in most countries. Visibility is reduced, and tides are less stable, therefore it is dangerous to go surfing. You might not know that the first cause of death among surfers is drowning, but it is, and factors like surfing at night time play a big part on this.
- 9am - 7 pm is probably (in real life) working hours for life guards. A lot of beaches do not allow surfing outside life guard duty hours because of the safety of the surfers. Again, drowing is the number one cause for death when surfing, so this is implemented in many beaches.
You can actually surf at sunset.
- Sunset in Cahaya starts around 5.30pm an lasts until 6.30pm, and sunset in Bali (to give an example) is around 7:00pm. Sunset in Blissbay is around 5:00 and it’s already dark by 6pm, and sunset in Santa Monica in summer seems to be around 8pm, which means 7 is probably as further as you should push it for safety
