In this post above, I mentioned that Kjun teased us with the ‘Small place’, here in the Q&A he even confirmed they planned it!
I think this little Winter Wonderland would have made more players happy in the December Update than the court system and the business feature they chose to pursue instead -.-
At least I could have waited for these for a good while longer. And better fleshed-out.
Along with other stuff that never happened.
That’s so disheartening for me that I can’t can’t rely on his words anymore, he really shouldn’t do that imo.
All the features, including Bubbly, the Memory System, NPC groups/adaptive behavior, were fully reflected either in the original concepts I paid for, or in the roadmap, or in Kjun’s positive replies, so it’s Team’s responsibility now to deliver what was promised. I’m not here to read other players trying to convince me otherwise, I came into the thread on-topic, I have the slides, the brainstorm results, and written confirmation, and I’m passing the post to the team (not to other players), saying: here, look. On Discord, if you disagree you can downvote, but you can’t directly argue against a team‑addressed take in posts.
Some of you also asked for a “living world” — where stories between NPCs unfold on their own, such as witnessing accidents or arguments, allowing the player to feel like part of the world rather than its center. Although inZOI is still limited in this regard, I’m always happy when I read your comments and see how closely your ideas align with the development team’s vision. It’s still in an early stage, but my long-term dream is to create a world like Ready Player One.
You also suggested giving players powerful in-game storytelling tools and AI-driven NPCs that allow them to create their own stories. As shown at Gamescom, this is already under development. This new system uses an LLM-based model, not the current “Smart Zoi,” enabling NPCs to form relationships and retain memories. It offers major advantages in story generation — with natural emotions, consistent logic, and contextual behavior.
Players also requested more realistic relationship dynamics, such as betrayal, jealousy, and rumors — as well as NPCs who recognize each other and behave differently depending on their relationships. To achieve this, we’re enhancing multitasking, group behavior, and the event system. These improvements will be included in the December update.
For example, during dates or family trips to amusement parks, Zois will engage in more conversations and interactions with each other. Once this system is implemented, families will naturally talk more often and move together when visiting parks. That’s the development goal — it’s a difficult system to build, but I’m determined to make it happen. Does this match what you were hoping for? If so, please leave a comment and let me know.
We want the city to feel alive, with working venues like theaters, subways, and restaurants that reflect emotions and context through animation. I completely agree — this is essential. Some of you even proposed expanding the “Bubbly” social network, adding dating apps, and screening real movies in theaters — I’d love to make that happen someday!
Firstly this is not the Discord; secondly it’s not against the Discord rules to verbally disagree with people, otherwise many of the (sometimes heated) discussions in the feedback threads would have been shut down long ago. And I’m not trying to convince you of anything, just to put my own point of view across in a thread that’s specifically titled ‘feedback’. I never said anything about karma not being important; I’ll admit that it’s not nearly as much of a priority for me as it is for you, but I agree that since the devs promised to re-implement it, they have an obligation to do that. I just get the feeling it’s going to take them a while to do it properly.
On the other hand, I’ve reported everything here to the devs and provided all the proofs – now there’s nothing subjective in this. Kjun’s opinion on the implementation of each feature I already posted above, with every positive Comment Response over these 3–6 months, it shifted from my personal view into an approved statement. Likewise, every screenshot from mxmun20 and LennyOgg makes their comments just as objective, since what was promised was actually completely different. The screenshot shown by LennyOgg basically reflects everything, that I wanted to say.
They definitely need to implement the features they promised, no argument there. All I was trying to say is that with the best will in the world, some features end up being more difficult/time-consuming than expected and so things end up getting shifted around. For example, it’s clear from Kjun’s comments that they’ve been working hard on the strollers, but just weren’t able to get them into a playable state for the December release. Delays don’t necessarily mean things have been abandoned or forgotten about.
R O A D M A P. Players in early access should never have to suffer wondering whether something will be delayed / cancelled / replaced or not. The new roadmap has been discussed since August 20, yet it still doesn’t exist, they forget about it, then remember, then forget again. We’ve already heard this far too often, in almost every brainstorm. Enough words. This is gamedev, strict discipline, not “a man said, a man forgot.” Give us the document. I didn’t invent these EA rules, and it’s not up to me to cancel them solely for inZOI.
