(UPDATED) Avoiding Constant Loading Screens During Gameplay

Hello there! Here is a Workaround Guide on how to Easily Avoid the Loading Screens you may frequently encounter during Gameplay. Please follow the steps in the exact order given:

How to Avoid Loading Screens while…

Section 1 (updated): Switching Between Zoi in Different Locations

  1. Ensure the Camera is not Focused On or Following your Zoi by Left-Clicking and Dragging the screen a little.

*NOTE: Before the August 20th update, the Main Portrait UI used to say “Click to Focus” when the camera wasn’t focused on your Zoi, but this is no longer the case. Do not worry! Simply left-click and drag, and you should be all set, regardless of the portrait’s appearance.

  2. Click the DESIRED Zoi’s Vertical Portrait on the Household Panel ONE TIME to switch to that Zoi. Note that the camera/screen will NOT automatically move to them yet (See Step 3).

    - Click Once :white_check_mark:, Not Twice (results in loading screen) :cross_mark:

  3. To Focus the Camera/Screen on the Desired Zoi after switching to them, click their Main Portrait UI.
Using ANY other button to focus on them WILL result in a loading screen!

    - Click Main Portrait :white_check_mark: W, A, S, D, Spacebar, or Vertical Portrait buttons :cross_mark:

  4. Repeat as needed to switch Zois without a loading screen! Done!

Section 2 (updated): Traveling by Subway/Bus/Public Transport

  1. Have your Zoi Enter the Public Transportation Vehicle.

  2. Select your Desired Location on the Map View, and it will switch back to Live View

  3. Once back in Live View, quickly Left-Click Drag the screen so that the camera is not focused or following your Zoi, BEFORE they fully enter the vehicle

*NOTE: Main Portrait UI remains unchanged whether the camera is focused on your Zoi or not, as of the August 20th, 2025 update.

  4. Wait until the Zoi has FULLY disappeared into the vehicle

  5. Once they’ve disappeared, Click their Main Portrait UI, and the Camera/Screen will instantly move over to them! :police_car_light: Like in Section 1, do NOT use any other buttons!

  6. Repeat any time your Zoi enters the Public Transport! Done!

Section 3: Auto-Driving Cars (Only Works in Multi-Zoi Households; Not Necessary if you Manually Drive)

  • Method 1 (easy) - If you have Multiple Zoi in the Car
  1. Have the Driver Zoi and the Passenger Zoi(s) enter the Car

  2. Go to Map View, Select the Location you want your Zoi to Auto-Drive to, and Click “Drive Here”

  3. Switch to any Passenger Zoi and do NOT Switch Back to the Driver until they have arrived at their location. If you switch too early, you’ll get a loading screen.

If done correctly, the car should drive a little, then automatically zoom over to the new location without the loading screen!

  4. Repeat any time you use Auto-Drive in a car with multiple Zoi! Done!

  • Method 2 (more complicated) - If your Zoi is driving alone and you have another Zoi in the household
  1. :cross_mark: Do NOT use the “Get in Car” interaction or Click the Car to Enter It :cross_mark:
:white_check_mark: DO select the Traveling Zoi, Switch to Map View, Select your Desired Location, and Click “Drive Here,” while they are still OUTSIDE of the Car :white_check_mark:

Your Zoi will automatically start to get in their car.

  2. Before they Fully Enter their Car and the camera Auto-Focuses on them, use Section 1, Steps 1-2 to switch to another Zoi in the household, but KEEP THE SCREEN on the Traveling Zoi

:police_car_light: If the Traveling Zoi enters the car before you switch, DO NOT TRY TO SWITCH, or you will get a loading screen. They will need to exit the car and repeat.

  3. After switching, use Left-Click+Drag to Follow the Traveling Zoi’s Car until you see it Disappear

  4. Once the Car has disappeared, switch back to the Traveling Zoi by pressing their Vertical Portrait in the Household Panel. The camera/screen will instantly move to the Traveling Zoi’s new location with no loading screen.

    Vertical Household Portrait UI

  5. Repeat any time you want to use Auto-Drive in a car without loading screens while Driving Solo (must have at least two Zoi in household)! Done!

I hope this guide helps your multi-Zoi household experience become more enjoyable!

  • Extra Notes:
    • The Loading Screens function of the game is likely set in place as a stability measure to release and/or reset rendered data as you move back and forth between Zoi in different locations. I’m not sure if completely avoiding them can negatively impact game stability as you play a session, so I’d suggest you let the loading screens happen every once in a while, to reset things, just in case!

In my experience, it’s hard not to accidentally do the wrong thing and get a loading screen every once in a while, so don’t worry too much about it.

    • Using WASD (direct controls) on a Zoi will auto-focus onto them, so remember to Left-Click Drag your screen again after using those buttons, before switching Zoi again.

That’s all! Thank you for reading! Please like this post if you found it helpful.

This is super helpful, thank you so much!
I’ve been already wondering why I almost always had a loading screen but sometimes not.
Now I know and I can finally avoid them, it was so annoying ^^’

You’re welcome! Please try these out, and let me know if it’s all understandable and if everything works. I tried my best to explain. Since UI is changing, I’ll have to update some images and maybe some steps after the new update releases.

As you said, the UI canged :sob:
I’ve been trying for a while now to find a way to avoid the loading screen/camera jump when I switch between Zois.

So when I click on my Zoi’s new icon

:backhand_index_pointing_right: first LEFT
:backhand_index_pointing_right: and then RIGHT

I can switch to another Zoi by clicking on the househould menu to the right without the camera jumping to him or a loading screen!

Hello! It’s actually more simple than that. All you have to do, like before, is just make sure the camera is not focused on your current Zoi by left-clicking and dragging the screen.

The Main Portrait UI will remain unchanged, but it will still work just like when it used to say “Click to Focus”. Remember to do this after using WASD or doing anything else that will focus the camera on your Zoi!

I have updated the guide to remove the outdated information. Have a good day!

So I’ve noticed that loading screens are significantly shorter ever since the August update, which is great to see, but hopefully this guide will still be helpful to those who still want to lessen their occurrence and avoid the jarring feeling that comes with having them at all.
