The scarf intersects this jacket

As per the subject.

I’m not sure if it’s considered a bug, but it should be fixed.

I’ve noticed this is happening with almost all of the jackets

It’s not a bug, it’s that they haven’t figured out how to add real physics of clothing and hair laying on each other and moving with flow

Is that even possible yet, to have clothing in game behave more like in real life, and fold and bend like in real life? I’m not sure because clipping is a regular issue in a lot of games. Different hair and outfits don’t play well together, I think.

If they could figure out outfit and hair physics, I would happily enjoy the gorgeous long hair style they added in December. But it sticks out so far from the body that it looks dumb from the sides and I won’t put it on my zois.

They do that nonsense with the hair to avoid clipping into larger bodies and into clothing. But the result is an immersion-breaking hairstyle that looks awesome from one angle.

I just think clipping is a fact of life for so many games that I don’t think inZOI will be the one to fix it.

Nope, but I know it is possible, making clothing substitute skin area as adding magnetic tips to hair strands, sure it may sound far fetched, but I’m sure someone can discover how to do this with todays technology

That could be true. But if the team is going to work on something like that, it’ll be a long time from now for sure. And only players with better computers could enjoy the feature, so a lot of others would be stuck with the clipping and strange hovering hairstyles.

As long as my zois could have pretty hair that doesn’t stick out from their body at weird angles, I would be very happy. Until then, I avoid anything that clips or looks silly to me.

I only use short hair on zios I use for starting a world to do certain thing in because any screenshots that must be taking should at least have non-glitched characters, currently there is no solution for the lighting issues that prevent me from taking the screenshots that I really want, instead I end up with very few at angles I would not have chosen. Best thing is to only use a t shirt, pants, maybe a blazer and most definitely short hair, I know this sucks when you want more than two female zois, which is another reason I can’t play inzoi yet, I’m limited to create mode only untill this game is complete after early access

Oh no, it’s sad to hear something like that is preventing you from enjoying playing the game. What are the lighting issues? Did you post a bug report since the new update and include screenshots you took (showing the bad results and some with the angles you’re limited to)? I’d love to check it out and give your bug report some support.

I absolutely love this game—bugs and half-baked ideas be damned! :joy: My big wish for the game is that everyone who wants to play the game and has a computer capable of running it would be able to play the game.

It’s not worth waiting for Early Access to end because they need to work on whatever is causing the issue for you/your computer’s hardware and the game’s settings. I’ve never tried one of those graphics filters available in the game because I adore the default look of the game. I’ve seen some great screenshots from the one that looks like an animated illustration style—have you tried it?

I’m just thinking of ways you might be able to get more out of the game so you could experience more things, provide feedback about your experiences, and share your awesome ideas for improvements and new features. That is what makes Early Access truly special. When my suggestions make it into a final release version of the game, I feel so happy to have brought something to the game that others enjoy.

The Long Dark is one of my favourite games, and you play as a lonely survivor in the Canadian wilderness. When it first came out in EA, there was a huge argument dividing players: some wanted an in-game map, and others felt it would ruin an important part of the game (learning your surroundings). I posted that my husband and I were drawing rough sketches of the areas we’d uncovered. Any named location was written, and we drew some landmarks. I suggested using charcoal from the campfires (which we had no use for at the time) to draw a “cloth map” style map like the sketches we made while playing. The devs added the mapping feature (made it slightly easier than I suggested), and so many players love it enough that they go around all the maps to clear away the black and draw in the details of those distant places! :orange_heart:

The lighting issues are already posted here in bug reports, I also sent screen shots to inZOI help and they thanked me for the screenshots saying they will help them.

Fist two images show solid white ceiling that brown floor tints the whole room (making it impossible to have a wooden floor with a white roof like in our home) or any colors other than solid white floor, walls and ceiling.

Last two images show the dark pattern bug which you can see most of the window pictures have the dark bug.

I don’t have any images for the flickering lighting bug.

The flickering lighting and dark pattern bugs have been reported here in the forum by other players.

All three of these bugs make it impossible for me to build colorful houses, use textures, or play inZOI and have dedicated households and game saves.

Magnetic hair has been discovered, when the players head turn the bottom of the hair strands stay in place on the shirt, top, or jacket, it just has not been applied in inZOI

I see. I’ll try to find your bug report. In general. the light is too yellow since the Cahaya update. I haven’t played much in Dowon since the summer, but both Bliss Bay and Cahaya have very yellow light now. It’s nice to have a true golden hour in the morning, but not worth having such yellow light. Then there also seems to be some of the ray tracing issues, and that’s what causes that crazy flickering. I thought a recent update’s patch notes mentioned fixing that. I’ve been able to turn up ray tracing again since that particular update. Prior to that, there was a terrible flicker-and-flash mess that happened whenever the light changed.

I’m crossing my fingers for you that it will get fixed sooner rather than later, so you can get back to enjoying the game with more variety than the white walls, floors, and ceilings that can drive a person nutty. :joy:

Now that you mentioned it I posted the bug report here on Forum; Floors, walls, ceiling and other objects tint whole area around them

You said yellow lighting in Cahaya and Bliss Bay, the building with wood floor turning white ceiling brown is in Cayaha, the pink pink furniture is in Creative Studio

This jacket is affected too

The main way I use scarfs is for outfits that I don’t want to put a jacket over (like a dress or special top). Look at that other zoi named JiHo in your screenshot—he looks like a scarf would add more warmth to the outfit, while the active zoi doesn’t necessarily need both a jacket and a scarf.

Unless they completely rewrite how character models and clothing work (independently and together) and how they’re created (which will impact mod creators—not that I like or want any of those mods personally), we have to make choices as players when it comes to items that clip.

Currently, the only clothing-clipping issues the team acknowledges as a bug are with certain Custom Crafted clothing items that clip certain body types after one of the updates. That’s the only clipping issue I’ve seen in the Known Issues lists, as far as I recall.

Whenever there are a large selection of hair and clothing styles, there will be clipping issues. There are some very cool long, layered necklaces from the Cahaya DLC, but they clip through certain outfits. As much as I wish it wouldn’t do that—it’s not a bug. It’s a design conflict. My choices were to change the dress or the necklace, or accept the clipping, and I changed the necklace.

It’s not that I’m a fan of clipping or am trying to defend odd visual issues when certain combinations just won’t play well together. But I don’t think it’s possible for the team to continue to give us a lot of great new hairstyles, accessories, and clothing items to choose from if they need to test every possible combination of official clothing items in the game.

How many people do you think are complaining to mod creators who make clothing items that clip with other items (official or modded)? I’m guessing not very many, yet people will complain to the inZOI team for the same common conflict of some items clipping.

Unless you want inZOI and Krafton to pivot to developing 100% adaptive character and clothing models instead of the game, or would prefer a smaller selection of official content that has passed all no-cilpping tests, here are my best suggestions:

  • try some other combinations first—as an alternative to what you wish you could use
  • post ideas in the Wishlist forum about ways you think the situation can be improved

One idea/wish I have is this:

Right now, we have two chunky scarfs and one medium -sized one in the Clothing Accessories category. These are great because they work well to add a warm layer to an otherwise chilly-looking outfit. But, what if they also add some scarf styles to the Outerwear section? I can easily imagine scarfs at the top, including some that are more style than warmth. The inZOI team would have a better chance of designing scarfs to suit all/most Outerwear if they create styles specifically for layering on cardigans, jerseys, and at least many of the jackets.

I’d rather they add another style of scarf designed to layer with jackets than try to be the ones who reinvent 3D character and clothing modeling in the game so it can be perfect every time. I mean, I’d take that in a heartbeat if it was possible and wouldn’t cost much or take years and years… which it would.

I haven’t had luck with the Wishlist, I posted twice once for AFO leg braces and once for Prosthetics and Orthotic braces (hoping either one would get likes so the inZOI team would add any type of leg braces to the socks category), either player’s are too focused on important things like bugs or don’t care about disabilities.

As far as the clothing in inZOI, looks like they’re made real quick and not tested like the swimsuit for little girls the the bottom left front corner of the top has an invisible hole in the skin (making it impossible for anyone to ever use except for the players who haven’t noticed yet, of course the inZOI team is trying to build the game as quick as possible, but if they take their time and do it right it will be complete a lot sooner than running then having to go back and fix everything. :+1:

I don’t know much about development or design, so I’m not sure what would be the best approach. When I wear a scarf, I also wear a jacket, because for me a scarf is a later step—I only wear it when it’s really very cold. So for me it was obvious that scarves should go over jackets, or underneath but remain hidden, not overlapping and visible only in the part not covered by the jacket.

Maybe yes, there should be two categories of scarves, those that can be worn with jackets and lighter ones, like foulards or pashminas.

  • Game Version: latest

  • Platform: (Steam windows)

  • Mods: None

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…):

  • Steps to Reproduce: Try to apply the new scarfs from the December update together with most of the new outerwear, even worse if the Zoi has long hair. This creates ugly overlaps - see example pictures below.

  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.
No save file needed, visible at every character creation in CAZ

  • Details:
When using the new scarfs from December update these ugly overlap with long hair and also with most of the new and some old outerwear. The scarfs are nice looking and I would like to use these more for the new winter clothing but the overlaps look so wrong that there is only a few of the new outerwear items left which can be used with the scarfs.

  • Regarding long hair there is actually generally no possibility to wear a scarf with certain hairstyles as it always looks very off. See pictures. It should be adjusted in some way that e.g. the hair is either hidden below the clothes or is really above the scarf / clothes and not partly in / partly out.

  • For the scarf and the outerwear the same: the scarf should be obove the outerwear or below it at certain places but not partly both. See pictures.

  • The other new scarf is working slightly better with the new puffer jackets but therefore has more issues with some of the old vests:

Hi EllaEstella!
I’ll merge this into the existing thread regarding scarves overlapping. Thank you
