[ 0.5.2 ] Portraits no longer update when Zoi age-up (very visible for newborns, toddlers and children)

      192 Gb Ram, 4TB NVmE with 2.2tb left.

    • Steps to Reproduce:
      Play the game for a while. Then check the maps and the families.
      You will see many family icons, some might look like a newborn/toddler
      Click that one from the map view and you will see they are in high-school or something

Now the answer we got earlier (See below) was that there is a “slight delay” for the icons to update.
I mean, okay why not ? But from newborn to high-school graduate (so young adult) that’s like 40 days in-game.
I feel the “slight delay” is a bit… stretched. Wouldn’t you guys agree ?
So far the only way I’ve found to force an update is to go and change the zoi’s appearance.

So I reopen this (minor) bug report.

We’ve reviewed the issue and confirmed that a short delay in the update may occur.

Totally agree. The bug report you filed back then wasn’t about “a short delay” because, as we’ve discussed with various users, the only workaround is to go into CAZ, then save. Without doing that, the portraits remain old / stuck. In fact, I even noticed one NPC who still had the toddler portrait even though he was already a young adult.

I still have this issue. I play all families in Dowon rotationally. There are 3 (maybe 4?) zois whose portraits are stuck as toddlers.

What I did notice is that I happened to be on a toddler at the moment they aged up, and the portrait updated. As far as the others, editing in CAZ does not resolve the issue and so far, unless I am actively playing the zoi, the portrait does not update.

Yes, this bug is still happening in all of my 4 save files too. NPCs’ portraits don’t update after birthdays very frequently lately. We can use the workaround if they’re a family residing in the city, but otherwise the portraits remain bugged.

I’ve had this problem when employing people for Big Buns. In the picture, they’re a young adult, but when they turn up for work, they’re past retirement age. They shuffle around slowly, not getting much done, costing my zoi money.
