I would love if each part could be divided some more into 2-3 parts (ex: right shin could be divided into 3 parts right chin1, right chin2 and right chin3) for greater masking control. I feel the current areas are too wide and a little limiting (example I might only want to mask the top portion of Belly Upper and not the whole thing but since I can’t I have to leave the entire belly upper unmasked and that sometimes causes clipping with the underneath skin).
The below cuts (additional parts are separated by the black lines) is a rough idea idea of what I feel will be ideal (for duplicate limbs, I only showed on one side/picture the breakdown I think would be nice):
I don’t think it would be too much work for the developers to do because I am not asking to get rid of the existing cuts, just add more. So in Drawing Region/Covering Region and Body Region there will be additional mask options which are a more refined mask cut.
Thanks in advance if this gets considered and added to the modkit.
I don’t know if this is possible on blender, or UE but how about a texture that we can attach to the body to hide those sections instead of limiting it to just predefined sections if we can choose the masking by texture it’d be amazing. Making the masked parts 100% invisible regardless if we use the predefined “torso hide” for example.
Say we make a shirt that is open in some sections but is tight to the body, currently the model would probably clip in some sections. If we could mask it perfectly with a texture all those issues would go away (not to mention InZoi has some clothing that clips through… that’d fix that too and would allow for less big garments that look like they’re a kid wearing XXXL clothing just because you want to avoid it clipping with the body…)
I agree. The sims 4 way is similar. You cut out the area your outfit covers and merge your outfit uv map with the parts of the body uv mesh you want to keep. Of course there are also limitations with that method (like limited freedom where each uv map for the different body parts can go). If feasible, your method would be perfect.
