Failure to queue followup action

  • Game Version:

  • Platform: Steam windows

  • Mods: never used
:round_pushpin:If you have used mods before, please list them:

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System: Windows 11, 5800X3D, 9070XT, 32G RAM

  • Steps to Reproduce:

Certain things not only turn my autonomy on (which is a different bug), but fail to chain further actions if I turn it back off.

So we start back home with autonomy off:

Click on “Go” and it goes back on, even though it has no reason to (I mean, I didn’t even accelerate time or anything):

The action is queued, and I turn it back off:

Now she’s in the school yard, standing there looking pretty, and not actually queuing the follow-up action of actually entering the school. I have to click on the school door and choose “Go to school” to actually enter the school:

Which, as I said before, gives me the idea that maybe overriding my agency by overriding my autonomy setting was the (most.. uninspired) “fix” to the game’s failure to chain actions otherwise. (And by “fix”, I mean in the same way that a cat is “fixed” after a trip to the vet :stuck_out_tongue:)

I’ve read that thread and it’s not even remotely the same thing. This isn’t about replacing actions in the queue, it’s about not queuing stuff that SHOULD be queued in the first place, if autonomy is off. Even when there’s nothing else to queue-stomp it. It’s like the polar opposite.

At a wild guess it’s like entering a queue is just given a higher priority to be autonomously chosen by the zoi, so it fails if there is no auto-choosing on, instead of just chaining it like, say, cooking a single portion, eating it and washing the plate, which works even with autonomy off.

(Edit: this was in a response to a well meant, but I feel erroneous, merging with another thread. Which has now been undone, so thanks.)
