Mod auto-download is helpful, but activation flow is a bit confusing

I really like that there’s now a popup that lets us automatically download missing mods when loading a preset. It’s a big help since we don’t need to hunt down each mod manually anymore.

That said, there are a couple of things in the flow that feel a bit confusing or inconvenient, especially for users who aren’t familiar with modding.

First, after the mods are downloaded, the game needs to be restarted to activate them. It kind of breaks the flow when you just want to quickly load or preview a preset. It would be nice if the mods could activate right away, or at least have a clearer message explaining why a restart is needed.

Second, the CurseForge warning is a bit intimidating if you don’t know what CurseForge is. As a user, I wasn’t sure:

  • What CurseForge actually is

  • Why I need to link it

  • If it’s required or optional

Since not everyone is familiar with mod platforms, a short explanation or “learn more” option would really help.

Overall, the auto-download feature itself is great and definitely a step in the right direction. With a bit more clarity around CurseForge and a smoother activation flow, the experience would feel a lot more user-friendly.
