Details:
Only in this specific family branch, the babies get a very different skin texture for baby & toddler life stage only. When aging up, the child stage chooses another, more fitting skin texture based on the parents.
Parents:
Child #1: (born November 24th 2025)
Child #1 in child life stage:
Child #2: (born January 29th 2026)
For reference:
During the birth cutscene, the babies always have a skin tone similar to the one they’ll get in the child stage. I’m not sure if the cutscene baby always looks the same, but here’s a screenshot.

I think I’ve found the root of this bug by accident. Both parents (which used to be one pre-made NPC and another NPC in Dowon) have no skin texture applied actively in CAZ. Now I figured out what used to be their premade skin tone and applied it. I’ll report back once they have another child. Maybe it’ll have a skin texture for once 
if they ever fix the lighting and color issues, I’ll be able to get zois have children and see these bugs and glitches too lol
I can’t wait to see the Zois you’ll be making one fine day =) This wouldn’t be a terrible bug, especially for someone like you who has a good eye for matching colors. I kidna struggled though, because seeing those tiny nuances isn’t my thing. I already thought about linking your name to a screenshot and asking for your help, but I somehow managed to do it xD
That’s a good catch. If you zois have another child, do let us know whether the game fails to apply a skin to him or not. It might be a good point of reference for devs to start working on a fix when they spot this bug!

I’ve found another child Zoi born with normal skin textures but once I entered CAZ when she became a child, her skin texture isn’t selected. In the screenshots below you can see that her eye color and shape is selected, but skin texture isn’t.
She’s Zoi child #3 in this family and none of her relatives has had any similar issues so far. It’s a different save file than the one I attached previously, so I’ll add the new one here too.

BTW @JoyIsFunner - I tried to find the same skin texture but was totally lost once again xD I now applied A28065 because it’s the closest I got. If you find more suitable hex codes, please drop them here 
I’m very simple, I don’t type hex codes, when I’m creating a zoi I choose face skin, then I select a color from the menu (can also adjust for yellower or redder tone, but I usually don’t have to), I always click around or drag the color picker to fine tune a unique skin color like shade/brightness and saturation, this is all done by looking at the zoi face and going for the right vibe. I do this before morphing the face and in some situations I’ll come back to darken/brighten or change the pigment, these are all done by moving the color picker, are you studying zoi genetics, I haven’t had any babies because I’m not going to makeover worlds until the lighting and color bleeding issues are fixed and I might wait till after early access is complete, right now I only create to upload to Canvas, but I enjoy creating, at which I haven’t been creating much lately, I started creating a house and I want to make all furniture Excellent, and there are no Excellent single beds for a teen or adult, so I’m at a stand still on this small house and there went my inspiration, I’ll get in the mood to build something sooner or later tho lol
Since the family which encountered this skin texture bug first has had their third child today, I can now confirm my theory from some posts earlier. Once both parents have a skin texture applied before the action to “make a baby” is chosen, the baby will have a common, mixed skin texture.
