It would be nice if the Zois would be a bit more logical in their choice of meal.
In order as I think it should be, going thru the list one at a time to pick their meal :
1- If Zoi currently has an active urge (eat mango/granola/bibimbap/etc, or drink coffee), pick that.
2- Eat any meal not currently claimed which are lying around (served meals/unfinished served meals) which have not gone bad.
3- Eat from a meal stack lying around (such as a stack of 8 pancakes or how many is left in the stack) which has not gone bad.
4- Eat a leftover from inside the fridge, again as long as it has not gone bad.
5- If Zoi has cooking preference, make a single portion of their favorite food type if they can/ingredients permit. If more than one type of favorite, random choice.
6- If Zoi does NOT have cooking as a preference, eat a quick meal of their preferred food (if any).
Where it is applicable from the above points, Zoi should ALWAYS pick a meal with proper calories to get as close as possible to maximize their hunger bar, like if the zoi gets into eating a quick meal, and they like meat, they should pick the meat-type food with closest calories count to full (either 90% or 110% or whatever).
But also prioritize their preferred food if-type you picked any.
No more doing what this bozo is doing right now… Making a new 56mew group meal when there’s like 25 leftovers in the fridge already >.<
One month anniversary of this suggestion and still waiting for something like this.
Between this and the routines, having zois to eat what they prefer is like fighting tooth and nail against the system.
Also zois keep pulling out group meals from the fridge when hungry but they do not eat it and may pull others out as well or decide to cook new one… What a waste of time and money
The food routines in a multi-zoi household are such a challenge because a zoi will take a plate of group meal out of the fridge, place it on the table, then go back to the fridge and purchase a quick meal.
One time, after my zoi finished working at their business and returned home around dinner time, there were quick meals and group meals cluttering the dining table! It was at least 250 mew worth of food on the table, if not more!
Now I always have to pause and micro-manage eating because it’s become a real pain since the last couple of updates.
But why is that? I sometimes bring fresh food with me to an uninhabited island. Living on fish alone there is inconvenient, so having some food in my inventory is very useful.
Of course, I had to add some furniture there for that, but who said I can’t bring a beach table and chairs with me on the boat?
That’s true, i hadn’t thought of that. Ok, then let them prioritize the food in their inventories as next meal. I’d also like a way to see how old the food in my inventory is and also in the fridge which is soonest to spoiling.
Another thing is that it’s extremely helpful for business owners who sell meals, baked goods, and any kind of beverage to be able to prepare some product at home and take it to work. They can even get some help from a family member and sell that menu item at work.
When Kjun posts a Brainstorming message on Discord next, we should mention this massive hassle with the food routines. I realized forcing unnatural hunger rhythms makes it impossible for me to test the dynamic weight feature with any accuracy. (I had to turn it off for months because my zois always lost weight extremely fast.)
I appreciate that they wanted to make it more natural to get families all eating at the same time, etc. but I think most players can either manage that on their own, or make group meals so family members can eat when they’re able to.
Anyhow, last Friday, I posted about the problems with businesses that could sell whole dishes (like pizza, cake, etc.) but now everything is automatically portioned and put on display, which cut profits to about a 10th of what they were! BUT this next Friday, I will try hard to remember this absolute NIGHTMARE that I hate so much in my game.
I mean, in one of my recent Let’s Play videos, I even said, “Why is the game so annoying?” while struggling with feeding my family of 5. Everyone wants to purchase a quick meal even when there’s a group meal ready. They cook a group meal, set it down, and walk away to buy a quick meal because they’re starving. It is always such a pain to get everyone to eat before school and work, and I constantly need to pause and micromanage their behaviour around the food because it’s a complete ANNOYING NIGHTMARE to deal with.
With the amount of posts about Zoi handling food, I figure I’d repost my idea.
But I found it instead by searching the forum (I thought I had posted it at some point !).
