Some Young Adult Zois Uploaded to Canvas are Incorrectly Shown As Adult When You Download Them

  • Game Version: 20250910.7320.W

  • Platform: Steam

  • Mods: never used

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…): N/A

  • Steps to Reproduce: Download zois that were uploaded to Canvas as Young Adult and load the zoi preset in CAZ, many will incorrectly be Adult

There are no error messages. It was brought to my attention by a friend who said some of Young Adult zois uploaded prior to the 2.0 patch were incorrectly shown as Adult in CAZ when they’ve been downloaded from Canvas.

I checked this with almost all of my own zois. When I upload zois to Canvas, I always put their age group in the tags (and sometimes also the description). I downloaded most of the zois I uploaded to Canvas as Young Adult aged zois, and most of them were listed as Adult age when I selected the downloaded-from-Canvas version of the zoi preset.

I’ve only uploaded one new zoi since the 2.0 update, so I can’t be certain if the age of downloaded zois is correct for new zois.

I’m having the same issue. All my young adults Zois created before patch (update) 2.0 are turning into adult Zois when I download them to put them back on my game. It’s kind of annoying. I want my young adult Zois to remain young in canvas not to change into adults.

I agree. I know people can change the zoi’s age to anything they want when they put them in their game.

However, I’ve made the mistake of assuming a zoi was Young Adult when I created a family, and once I was in the game, I didn’t spot that he was Adult until a few days into my game (the portraits were very small back then).

I wouldn’t want that to happen to anyone who likes one of my zois, downloads them and creates a family, and then finds out the hard way.

Do you use mods that affect aging? I know that mods like Realistic Aging and my own Balanced Adulthood can mess with already existing Zois’ ages. What I tend to do to ‘fix’ this is just age ‘em down in CAZ if they are not yet in the actual game.

Thanks for your reply!

No, as I mentioned in my post above, I’ve never used mods. Plus, all the zois I’ve uploaded to Canvas were created and uploaded from CAZ, rather than inside the game. (If that matters with mods, but I have never enabled or downloaded any mods.)

I know we can also easily change the age group of the zoi in CAZ prior to going into the game, but I mentioned above that I made the mistake myself of adding an adult zoi to a family I was creating, and I didn’t notice it until I had played a few in-game days. I thought he aged up because we had no age indicator back then.

Nevertheless, it’s easy enough to mistake the Adult zoi for a Young Adult depending on the size of your monitor, graphics detail, etc., and of course, simple human error.

I noticed that on Canvas, we can browse zois by age category, but the only options are Child, Teen, and Adult. That makes this mistake even easier to happen (at least with Adults, the others look their age!).

Prior to the 2.0 patch, there was planned downtime for Canvas. I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it, but it was my first suspicion because zois I have downloaded from my own Canvas gallery before were their appropriate ages.

I uploaded some zois during the creation studio demo prior to the Early Access release. I downloaded them back into my game and had both versions for a while. I kept my download and original of this zoi: inZOI Canvas

When I downloaded her in March, she was Young Adult as expected. When I download her now, the Canvas preset is an Adult in CAZ. The tag and screenshots on her show she’s supposed to be Young Adult.

Can you check her in your game, please? :folded_hands:
