This is interesting. I had a similar issue and also only with fast traveling. I first thought my stairs would be broken or not connected correctly. But then using “go here” all is fine.
When I told to “go here” she took the logic and fastest route:
You might remember the strange general pathfinding issues we had already in the past. I also made a thread for that some months ago. But this was general, so it did not matter if you take “go here” or fast travel. Thus this specific issue seems new to me as it only affects fast traveling as it seems.
I’m not sure if I can reply, but I’ve had this problem since the beginning. I had moved my couple into a house along the beach at Bliss Bay, and whether it was just “go here” or “go quickly here”, they would leave the house, walk along the left wall, go around the three houses on the right, and come back to the front to take their taxi, it was a nightmare
I tried changing houses, changing door placement, etc… but there was nothing I could do. It was driving me crazy, and I ended up moving them a bit further away, to a larger lot, but it was almost the same:
I don’t know why they always need to do random things to go somewhere, but it makes absolutely no sense.
Recently, I noticed they stopped doing it and actually use the door properly, but in another area, it’s been like this since the beginning, and it still hasn’t changed now:
The only way to prevent them from doing random things is to control them one by one with Z Q S D or with the controller.
But it’s the same when they’re in town, they never take the shortest or simplest path, they look like hyperactive Sims who need so much exercise that they add extra distance for themselves
I really hope that one day this problem will be fixed
The front door is supposed to be facing the beach, altho the devs need to fix it so that zois take shortest routes, but beings your door is on the back of the house the game thinks they have to exit through the front
Yes, the bug when leaving/entering the lots is happening since the beginning, but inside the lot or out in the open world and that it makes a difference if the Zois walk or run is new.
Yes, the beachfront lot in Bliss Bay has been having this issue since release last year. From what I noticed, the pathfinding got worse over the course of time though. Wasn’t there supposed to be a fix in this weeks’ patch? Did anything change at all? Haven’t played much so I didn’t have enough time to experience it yet.
Not quite the same but still a pathing issue , In Cahaya i send my zoi to go somewhere and they walk past all the mini buses at the stops and walk all the way to somewhere the other side of the city sometimes , Ot they will get transported to somewhere well away and not the nearest one to their destination
Steps to Reproduce: give the Zoi the command to go purchase hamburger from the vendor on the pier (where my Zoi is currently standing in the picture with blue circle around him) while the Zoi is at the sitting area with the tables (blue dot on the picture which was the starting point).
Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.
Details:
As this now happened the second time at the same spot I am considering it to be some kind of a strange pathfinding bug in the Bliss Bay Amusement park. See picture: My Zoi was standing where the blue dot is and was ordered to go buy a hamburger at the vendor where he is now in the blue circle. The expected route to take would be the blue one. What he did was the red route. He even went through walls in the building and made 3 loops before finding the door on the other side of the amusement park office building. The same happened a couple of days ago with another Zoi at the Amusement park.
