New Building Review Type

Hello! I’d like to suggest a new wall display option for buildings during gameplay.

Currently, walls can be fully lowered, fully raised, with one intermediate option. But I’ve always felt like there should be one more intermediate option - one where walls and objects behind the active character are always visible, but the walls closer to the camera won’t block the character.

Below are examples: two options as they exist now, and one (with rough imperfections, but showing what I mean) - with the proposed additional view. It seems to me that it looks much more natural this way, while not forcing you to bring the camera too close to Zoey just to photograph them in the room setting (because otherwise the view is blocked by the wall when they’re fully raised).

As it is now: walls raised - we see the room, but it will be inconvenient to photograph, the character isn’t visible.

As it is now: walls lowered - we don’t see the room setting at all, walls are “full of holes”.

What I’m proposing: only the walls that block the character itself are not displayed. If we need to access the bathtub - it’s enough to rotate the camera slightly - and the right wall will also become invisible without interfering with control.

I would really love to see something like this implemented. Of course, keeping all the options that currently exist. I hope this idea appeals to more than just me. Thank you! :innocent: :folded_hands:

Yeah, that’s actually a really cool thing. I even know how to implement it. It’s actually very simple. At the development team level, this could be done in 2 days: 1 day for development, 1 day for polish. How do I know that? I won’t say - it’s a secret.

Thank you for your support!

In this case, as they say “Your words to God’s ears!”

I hope they’ll listen and implement it, since it’s not that difficult. Otherwise, in small spaces it’s really critical, because it’s practically impossible to play with raised walls.

I love this idea! I would use this option quite often if it were added)

Thank you for the support!

I would basically only play it in this form! Playing with fully raised walls in small rooms right now is just “painful”! And with lowered walls - well, only if you’re looking from above, not descending to the character’s eye level.

I support you my friend. That would be great.

Yes! I love playing with the walls up and the WASD controls make it possible but the camera can be a pain especially in small rooms. This would be ideal!!

Thank you! We’re keeping our fingers crossed (I don’t know if the forum will translate it correctly, but it means “we really hope”) that the developers will like this idea too! :innocent: :folded_hands:

I nearly always play with the intermediate option. With walls up it is nice to see the full room but it feels unnatural to zoom out to go to another room. With walls down the room feels not complete and not immersive. With the intermediate option it is ok, but as you stated: depending on the build it feels nearly like walls down for some rooms.

So I like your suggestion as this would bring the immersion for all rooms where your active Zoi currently is without blocking your view. And especially for the photos this is currently really a mess if you want to take a nice picture in a small room or a room which has angles. That would help for this as well.

Exactly! For photos, the current system is basically “good luck positioning the camera so you don’t photograph a wall”. Small bathrooms are a nightmare! You can only do close-ups, a full-body shot of a character definitely won’t fit in the frame without knocking down a wall.

Of course, you could make all the rooms huge, but that’s not always appropriate.

Thanks for supporting this topic! :innocent: :folded_hands:
