Ever since my Zoi got promoted to Lead Producer, he has developed an irrational vendetta against Bangchan. I’m not exaggerating when I say this man gets reprimanded for absolutely everything.

Standing near equipment? Reprimanded.
Existing peacefully? Reprimanded.
Probably breathing too confidently? Also reprimanded.

Bangchan will be at his desk and my Zoi will call him into the corner and reprimand him for no reason at all.

There also seems to be an issue with forced “wander around” actions interrupting queued tasks. My Zoi will:

  1. Attempt to eat lunch

  2. Sit down for approximately 1.4 seconds

  3. Suddenly decide it’s time for a reflective office stroll

And while he’s wandering the building contemplating life, Bad Bunny steals his lunch.

Not once. Repeatedly.

I don’t know if this is intended AI behavior or if Bad Bunny has simply recognized weakness.

And finally: Rihanna.

My Zoi has attempted to talk to her multiple times at work to build a friendship, but she completely ignores him every single time. I’m able to speak to the other Zoi in the building even when everyone is working at their workstations, but attempting to speak to Rihanna keeps failing and disappearing from the queue.

Also, what is going on with the projects? They randomly disappear from the cell phone progress screen, making it impossible to see progress. And when they’re visible, I only have 24 hours and can never complete enough work to finish it. I’m referring to the second progress bar in the screenshot below. I snapped it before it disappeared again, before the project timer expired. Am I missing something?

So currently, my workplace simulation consists of:

  • Bangchan being unfairly targeted

  • Bad Bunny committing serial lunch theft

  • Rihanna acting like my Zoi is invisible

  • My Lead Producer randomly wandering the office like he forgot why he came there in the first place

Is there a way to fix these issues that I might be missing?

@TrinityTaylor I also had the reprimanded issue in one of the other new careers. But it was not so dominant like in your case. It happened a couple of times but maybe because I was mostly actively in control of my Zois actions (?). Was this an autonomous action from your Zoi?

The wandering around sometimes happens to me as well, not everytime though.

What I also saw is that there were some employees which ignored you - action got canceled. But in my case this was not permanent. It was mostly during the work time. During the break or after work I was able to talk to them. Same for you or is it also cancelling then?

Nevertheless: all these are bugs which need to be fixed! In my case they were just not so persistent but still there.

Regarding the ongoing project: this I actually have finished already 3-4 times. I did not manage every time but when I was pushing my Zoi for promotion and doing a lot of job tasks apart from only the assigned ones it was finished in time. You then get an amount of money depending on your contribution and on how good the outcome was. See 2 examples below:

Ella, you’re basically my forum guardian angel/therapist, validating my increasingly bizarre adventures in inZOI. I genuinely appreciate it because I was starting to wonder if my save file had become uniquely cursed.

As for the reprimanding issue: yes, my Zoi is on autonomous actions, but not intentionally. The setting keeps turning itself back on every time I switch households, and I didn’t think I needed to turn it off.

What I can’t figure out is whether autonomy is supposed to override direct player commands.

I’ll queue up work tasks; my Zoi will start on them… and then suddenly cancel everything to reprimand Bangchan for existing incorrectly.

The timing is brutal too. I missed a work objective by a few in-game minutes because:

  1. My Zoi abandoned his task

  2. Went to reprimand Bangchan

  3. Immediately got forced into lunch

  4. Had to walk to the third floor

  5. The work tasks had vanished along with the ability to complete them for*? work points??*

Meanwhile, Bangchan is probably wondering why HR keeps materializing beside his desk every 20 minutes. I think he’s depressed because he’s randomly started napping on the third floor, workplace harassment lawsuit pending. :woman_facepalming:

The Rihanna issue is also weirdly specific. During work hours, conversation attempts with her silently fall out of the queue, and both Zois stand there like two NPCs waiting for dialogue that never loads.

What’s strange is:

  • It ONLY happens with Rihanna

  • My Zoi can talk to Bad Bunny and Bangchan at their workstations just fine while all are completing work tasks

  • After work, Rihanna suddenly becomes fully interactive again

Honestly, I think she might be bugged to stay late too because she’s always there after hours with my Zoi like they’re trapped in corporate overtime together.

So now my working theory is either:

  • Something on the lot is interfering with interactions

  • Or Rihanna takes her job extremely seriously and refuses workplace friendships.

As for the project system, I have never successfully completed one.

The progress bar disappears every time, and then I get the same report screen saying:

“Project completed: poor performance.”

Which is confusing because my Zoi:

  • Completes work tasks

  • Works overtime

  • Barely has time to inhale lunch before being forcibly relocated across the building

Am I supposed to ignore breaks and spam every possible task nonstop? Because the game simultaneously pushes:

  • productivity

  • mandatory breaks

  • relationship building

  • random wandering

…all at the same time.

And yes, the random “wander around” and “move” actions are both menaces. It affects my business owner too and cancels actions in progress. Completely random. No warning or logic. Just:

“Actually, your Zoi should pace the building aimlessly right now.”

Which inevitably gives Bad Bunny enough time to steal another lunch.

At this point, I honestly think the forced “wander around” behavior and mandatory lunch routing are interfering with gameplay systems and breaking task progression.

Side note, my office crew is so random :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@TrinityTaylor I honestly have so much fun reading your bug reports — you could turn this into a whole comedy series at this point

To be honest, the new careers are so bugged right now that it is almost impressive when a Zoi manages to get through an entire career without being fired for no reason, not getting assigned a desk, being unable to do tasks, or running into one of the many other bugs you mentioned.

And as for Rihanna — what is her rank, exactly? Is she below you, above you, or the current CEO??

In my case it was similar too: for me there was also mainly one co-worker who was just completely unapproachable during working hours, while the others were mostly fine. Why that one person was apparently so focused on his job tasks and ignoring the reality around him is still a mystery to me

The project issue happens to me as well. It disappears from the menu, then comes back later, and it seems to be the same project all along. So I do not think it is actually gone — it just looks like the game cannot decide whether it wants to display it or not.

And the wandering around, same here, especially with businesses. In my game it is actually even worse there than in the new careers, but it feels like the same underlying issue.

So yes, lots of fun and mood-lifting bugs for everyone to enjoy.

And if you want a few extra absurdities that I think are either oversights or just badly implemented systems:

If your Zoi fails job tasks because he is too busy wandering around or scolding Bangchan or has no desk assigned to him, do not worry — apparently actual work is optional. You can basically ignore the job tasks and just spam the “occupation” dialogue options with co-workers, and each time you do it, you gain performance, 1% per interaction.

Want a fast promotion? Easy. Go to the job interview, sit through the scripted event, then stand around for another two and a half hours of completely unnecessary waiting until the hiring process finally finishes. Once you are hired, your interview partner will still be standing there too, because apparently they are also trapped in those extra nonsense hours. Then just queue up the “occupation” conversation over and over again. Do that often enough (100 times) and you will hit 100% performance before your first real workday even starts. A few in-game hours, a lot of clicking, and suddenly your Zoi is apparently employee of the century without having done a single piece of actual work. Honestly, maybe the game is just teaching us that career success is all about networking and looking busy

Another one: the moment your Zoi gets promoted, it seems like the co-worker who used to be one level above is instantly fired. At least in my game, they immediately stop being counted as a co-worker, and the next day they are still gone. So with every promotion, the company gets emptier and emptier. I would understand it if a new co-worker appeared at your old level, but that does not seem to happen either. It is like the promotion system doubles as a staff reduction program. Who knows, layoffs happen quite often these days

Have you run into those bugs as well?

Rihanna was a Producer Assistant when she first started ignoring my Zoi. Now she’s been demoted to Assistant… and somehow she’s still ignoring him. So apparently, rank was not the issue.

I’m convinced she just doesn’t like him personally.

The Executive Producer promotion has also been a complete disaster for me. During my first attempt, something bugged out when I clicked “Play All” on the interview interactions. Every scripted task instantly completed at once, then none of them would refresh afterward. I assumed:

“Okay, clearly that broke the interview.”

Fair enough.

But then my Zoi failed the promotion again later, despite:

  • 100% interview progress

  • Great conversations

  • Good relationship with the boss

So eventually I gave up, used cheats to max the relationship, and suddenly he got the promotion.

Which honestly makes the system feel less like:

“Work hard and prove yourself”

…and more like:

“Networking is the only real skill that matters.”

And YES, my old boss disappeared too!

When I started:

  • Boss = Executive Producer

Then my Zoi got promoted:

  • Old Executive Producer became the Lead Producer

Then my Zoi became Executive Producer:

  • Old boss vanished into the void entirely, but he still shows up at my Zoi’s house for those obnoxious impromptu Nostalgia events that force you to go home when you’re in the middle of something important.

So now I’m wondering:

Are we only allowed one top-ranked Zoi per career path at a time??

Because if so, the future celebrity system is going to be absolute chaos. Imagine finally becoming a global superstar only for the previous celebrity to get quietly deleted from reality because the game ran out of management positions.

The promotion system feels less like career progression and more like a corporate battle royale.

Thanks so much for the tips! What’s your favorite career so far? I need inspiration for my next Zoi.

@TrinityTaylor Okay, this is actually really interesting. You are basically proving my sarcastic theory that in this game only networking really matters. During those extra 2.5 hours of nonsense after the scripted interview, I ended up using the time to turn my interview partner into my best friend and future business partner, simply because I could not think of anything less ridiculous to do with it. So apparently the real career system is: flatter your boss, make connections, and you are set. Whether you actually do any work seems to be a secondary detail at best.

Your second point is interesting too. In your case, only the final boss disappeared and everyone else got demoted. In my case, they all just vanished. So apparently the companies in my game are running on layoffs, while yours prefer a more traditional demotion strategy.

And your last point is genuinely worrying. I have not tested the top levels of the new careers with multiple rotationally played Zois yet, but if this does not just happen to random NPCs and also affects Zois you actively play, that would be really bad. We already had something a bit like that in Sims 3 with certain unique roles like Mayor, but if inZOI does the same thing even with normal careers like Architectural Designer or Newspaper Reporter, that would be a much bigger problem. Unfortunately, I think you may be right. It seems very likely, because each company only has one boss office and one boss workstation.

As for the new careers and which one I like most, that is honestly hard to answer. I have to admit that all five feel far too similar. They are basically the same structure with different labels on the PC tasks. There are a few smaller differences, like using the microscope or experimental kit in the research career, or interviewing people in the reporter career, but beyond that they all play almost the same way. In practice, it mostly comes down to different required skills and slightly different task names, but the overall gameplay feeling is still very similar. That is a bit disappointing, because I was really expecting more variety.

So far, I think the crime career has actually been the most fun, at least in terms of variety. Unfortunately, half of it has been broken since the v0.8.0 patch because of the bank door bug. Building up a business has also been fun, but that system has had a lot of bugs too since the March patch, and many of them still have not even made it onto the known issues list. Still playable, yes, but definitely messy.

What I am thinking of trying next is running a hair salon. I have not tested that one yet.

Tell me what you are planning next — I might get some inspiration from it too.
