Character Invisible in Mirrors Despite 60 FPS Performance RTX 3050 4GB

  • Game Version: current

  • Platform: steam windows

  • Mods: Hair and clothing tattoos

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System CPU: Intel Core i5-12450H

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (4GB VRAM)

  • RAM: 16GB

  • Steps to Reproduce:

  • Stand in front of any mirror.

  • Note that the character is invisible while the room is reflected.

  • Change reflection settings to Ultra; the character remains invisible.

  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.

  • Details: Current Performance: The game runs smoothly at 60 FPS with stable frame times, suggesting that the issue is not caused by a general system bottleneck.

  • Visual Settings: I am using Screen Space Global Illumination instead of Lumen. Even when manually toggling between Screen Space and other reflection methods, the character model remains invisible in mirrors.

  • Regression: This feature was functional in earlier versions of the game (pre-v0.8.0) on the same hardware. The invisibility started occurring after recent engine updates/optimizations.

  • VRAM Usage: Despite having 4GB VRAM, the system handles high-quality textures and shadows well. The lack of character reflections seems like an over-aggressive optimization or a bug in the reflection probe priority for mid-range GPUs.

  • Troubleshooting Done: Updated to NVIDIA Driver 596.21, performed a clean system refresh (Shift+Shutdown), and verified game files on Steam, but the issue persists.

Hey there. Thank you for reporting this. I’ve moved your thread to the Technical Help section, because this doesn’t seem to be a bug but rather depending on your setup

After the v0.8.0 update, which came with a huge UE5 upgrade, rendering is using different paths and processes now. Unfortunately, this made the gap between high-end and mid-range GPUs quite visible. It’s also very likely the reason why your character isn’t visible in the mirrors anymore.

Switching to ultra reflections does little to no change here, because the game makes use of VRAM and GPU in general differently now. I’m not a tech specialist, but I’ve done quite a bit of research on inZOI’s technical requirements over the past months of “working” here in the forum, so I assume your GPU isn’t capable of producing those character reflections in the mirrors anymore.

You can still try to take a look at this guide I have just revised after the recent changes: inZOI – Graphics & Performance Guide (revised after update v0.8.2)

Thank you for your help thank you for your help, have a good day. :slightly_smiling_face:
