Last night two of my Zois, who are engaged but still living alone, had a date outside. While I was following one of them as they headed to the appointment, I ran into the other one on the street, and they even stopped at the same traffic light, obviously ignoring each other completely until arrival.
I thought about how unrealistic this could be.
It would be nice if Zois could pick up their fiancé/fiancée and go together. It would also be nice that when two Zois have a destination but meet on the street, they could greet each other and interact without canceling their arrival at the destination.

Yes. I fully support this. It would be cool if, just walking down the street, you meet someone you know by chance and they either greet each other with a gesture or a word. It’s just like in real life. We would still be given the choice to stop and start a dialogue or to move on.
Also have the option to ignore characters that we don’t want to greet (because they’re harmful) or because they’re an enemy. But also to receive a relationship penalty for ignoring the NPC who greeted us.

The first part - yes
The second - only if we understand that we were greeted and we intentionally refused to respond. But when you’re just passing by somewhere - stopping and clicking on every acquaintance of Zoe to reply to their greeting - I’m afraid that would be too tedious. A normal automatic nod to each other and a couple of words, or a wave as you pass - seems quite enough to me. Otherwise we’ll quickly end up with a whole city full of enemies just by going about our business on the streets. Especially since our “acquaintances” often include people whose faces we don’t remember, and we just happened to chat with them once on the street
Then we need to adjust this and create a reaction based on those who actually have a good or bad relationship with us. Friends, colleagues, relatives. Then this would solve the problem of “frequent mouse clicking” and they won’t show up on the street as often. Unless the player wants to befriend or be enemies with the entire city - then that’s your own problem, you asked for it. So sit and roleplay it.

That’s right, it could be made adjustable, or only be active in case of a close relationship.
It would be nice if two friends or relatives heading in the same direction could greet each other and continue together chatting.
