I decided to create a new character based on the drawing and ran into such a problem that Zoi skinning in CAZ is limited.
Here is a drawing of the character.
The sliders for changing the appearance and the facial changes of the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. have a limited range. They strongly depend on the ready-made face template in CAZ, and therefore it is not possible to create the desired face. In other words, we’re just making changes to a ready-made face template. I can’t stretch my face either vertically or horizontally. I can’t change the entire profile of a face. I can’t change the forehead, the top of the skull, the back of the skull, nothing.
That’s what I got after 1.5 hours of “torture and suffering”, I got this character (not very similar) I spent about 30 minutes just picking up a roughly similar face template.
How is it? It’s a shame! I’m not talking about The Sims at all - there’s definitely no problem with that.
In short: remove the restriction on changing the face. Detach the face change points from the face templates. Let us create any face we want, rather than correcting an already finished face. Give us the opportunity to make ugly characters!
P.S. The funny thing is that the glasses accessory can be freely transported as you like, but the face is not.
I’d refrain from using harsh words like “shameful”, but I support the idea! When it comes to customizing faces (and bodies too), there’s so much more that could still be improved. Even just expanding the adjustment ranges for each parameter would make a huge difference — the ability to make the head much narrower or wider, the nose much longer, the eyes take up half the face or be tiny and sunken…
If we had more customization options, we wouldn’t even be limited by the template we start with. We could “reshape” it beyond recognition. Right now, unfortunately, that’s not possible.
I agree! And for things like earrings and lip piercings, you can only choose one! For example, in the third image you shared, having a nose piercing and three eyebrow piercings at the same time isn’t possible to do in the game…
Now that Paralives has come out and I’ve seen the freedom it gives you when creating a character, they should take note and implement it, because having the freedom to do what you want gives it a lot of points in its favor and it’s a pleasure to create more Sims. Please don’t wait for modders to add this mechanic—it should be vanilla.
