[05.30.26] pools and build mode

Dear kjun,

Thank you so much for today’s video! It looks super fun!

When you throw objects at other zois, I’d like that if zois would react so that we have consequences for our actions to deeped gameplay. Like, if a teen were to throw something at a teacher, they’d get detention for example! Maybe even cafeteria food fights? Oh, and for multiplayer, let one of the objects we can throw be snowballs please :folded_hands:

As for car physics, when a car flips over like that, make zois have a higher chance of death maybe? It does look dangerous.

And finally for the basements: eventually when terrain tools make an appearance, please ensure they function together with the basement so that we could create walk out basements, make basememts with windows, and some other cool stractures!

Plus another suggestion: the pool. Aside from the autonomous swimming, I love how we can adjust pool depth. Can you please give us the abilith to make it shallower? Naturally when a pool is too shallow, zois of a certain height could only stand in it, which is fine because not only will it let us create kiddy pools, it’d also finally allow us to make fountains. Please and thank you :folded_hands:

Just to elaborate: it’d be very helpful of you could make the minimum pool depth as deep as a single platform level. That way, we’d be able to directly build in pool stairs by stacking platform levels.

Also, it might be an ambitious ask, but if you could make zois be able to sit on platforms that are as tall as the avarage in game couch, it’s be super helpful. Why? Because not only would we be able to build built in pool seats, but we could even use this system to make modular window seats and benches.

Expanding the pool system a bit like allowing us to set water temperature to either cold or hot, as well as some water effects like foam or bubbles, we’d be able to build a completely custom hotub and even a hot spring! How cool would that be? Such a system would definitely make the build mode much more powerful! Maybe even being able to designate a pool as a bathing area? That way we could create public bath houses (though we’d need a special lot that removes the need for privacy) or even built in baths for our super rich zois. Soaking in a pool designated as a bath increases hygiene need. The platforms that could function as couches would be inredibly useful here.

A random idea, but alternatively, you can just make a tool called platform seats which is literally the platform tool, but it only comes in one height (the couch height). You can slot tables to it and zois can sit on the platforms like they would on couches. If the platforms are extra wide, they can function as regular platforms and zois should be able to sit cross legged in the middle.

And naturally, swimming in hot water when it’s cold won’t make us freeze and vise versa. Plus, autonomous swimming. Cause so far, zois can only swim with the WASD keys. It’d be a huge help if you also added the ability for us to click on the pool and select “swim” so that zois could swim around by themselves. And add this ability to the ocean too so that NPCs could swim at the beach and community pool to make it appear lively.

And on the topic of build mode: it’s a mission and a half to have 2 different floor colors in the same “room”. You basically have to select individual floor areas. You can easily solve it by introducing a floor cutter tool. Basically, mark the dimensions and recolor the floors with ease. Kinda functions like invisible walls if it makes sense. Also a wall and ceiling cutter would help.

Maybe a few more resizeble window options? Especially windows that have a squere pattern and line pattern like this:

Oh, and when pools are built above ground, please allow us to apply the glass wall texture to the walls so that we could create infinity pools :folded_hands:

And some resizeable curtains please so that we could create custom curtain lenghts to fit our needs.

Also, would it be possible to take the resizeable rug system and apply it to paintings? That way we wont be limited to ceratain painting sizes/dimensions and could make them as small or as big as we want. And maybe a couple of patternless rug options. One with a border and one without so that we could upload our own textures and create our very own rugs.

Also, ceiling beams. Part of the cottagecore experience is ceiling beams, and the current ceilings are a bit boring, so a little “ceiling jewelry” will let us create cozy spaces.

And as a final note, please add 3rd person view to the theme park rides and water slides. I want to watch my zois ride with their family and friends since the 1st person view camera breaks the immersion. Of course, still make it compatible with the upcoming 1st person view camera so that people can still enjoy the rides in first person if they wish to do so

Oh, and also for canvastown:

As I understand, creating a world from scratch is more or less impossible, right? However, if you just give us an empty map (imagine a sims 4 world but with all buildings removed) with pre-built roads and the ability to place down our own lots, that would honestly be more than enough. And of course, being able to choose lot types from presets to let the game know what kind of lot it is (residential, park, business, school, ect). If we could place down lots super close to eachother so that they’re touching and have a custom lot type called “street”, it’d give us enough tools to create our very own worlds and be costumizeable enough. You could also release several map “looks” to choose from and we’d honestly be set

So a map surrounded by tall buildings, a map surrounded by a forest, a map surrounded by fields and a map next to the ocean/lake, and we’d be set :ok_hand::folded_hands:

more map ideas: maps based on themes! So a cyberpunk map, medieval map, castles map, candyland map, suburbia map, steampunk map, cottagecore map, mountainous region map, mediterranean map, ect. That way we could build the city of our dreams in any aesthethic we want and fill in the rest with mods. Could even allow the possibility of selling cosmetic map packs

I agree with the very detailed and beautiful thoughts. :folded_hands:

I agree with everything, but I didn’t understand that one sentence. What does “infinite pools” mean?

Pools, such as glass pools, where the water overflows at the edges.

Infinity pools is a type of pool that looks like this:

Achieveable with glass walls

Won’t my Zoi’s fall off the edge?

Not bad. I like these ideas. As for the construction, I would like to add that we also need to add the ability to build rooms in the roofs. For example, there are two-storey houses where the second floor is residential - located inside the roof of the house. This will help to create beautiful multi-storey houses.

It’s basically a pool with a balcony. Of course, i wouldnt recommend floating in one

I havent experimented with inzoi roofs in a hot minute, but i do believe it’s already possible if you do it the same way you would in the sims 4 by being creative with the roof tool like in the video below:

Of course, it would still be major help if we could build half walls inside the roof. Moreover, more half wall heights since half walls being depandant on the wall height is a bit constricting at the moment

I want it to be like Sims 3 not Sims 4.

Thank you, @Taibak, @polkacat99, I understand which pools you’re referring to.

But why specifically glass walls? Even ordinary ones built so that water overflows over the edge would give that “infinite view”. Or is your idea that you’ll be able to look at this from the side of the city in a photo, and through the glass see the swimmers’ bodies?

Yes, but I wish it could be done easily. As they say, it’s already out of the box.

Yeah, being able to look at it through the side and being able to see the view through the wall when it’s high up is my vision
