[06.05.26] inZOI Weekly Update: Building a More Connected and Living World (Updated)

You guys are amazing!!! This is incredible. I especially loved the exclusive clothing and hairstyles in the salons, the babies also look much more realistic, and their clothes are absolutely delightful!!! The clothing stickers are exactly what I wanted!!!and the increased texture viewing resolution will finally let me stop squinting:rofl:

These new features are truly needed and worthwhile! I’m proud of you!

After the latest update, the game seems to work better, for example on weaker hardware (Nvidia 4060 8GB, i Core i5, 32 GB RAM). The graphics are somewhat better. It’s a shame that you can’t set your own music (auto/home) and the door locking system isn’t customizable (why do “keys to all doors” still only one family member has?) and cheats for changing the weather, which affects Zois, don’t work. One type of weather could last, for example, one day, because I need a whole cloudy day in gameplay  Plus, after applying the “customZoi” cheat, you still can’t change the character’s personality traits.

Thank you for your work! It’s wonderful to see the sticker idea come to life. I hope they can be placed anywhere on clothing and combined with others to create your own design.

Finally added interaction with the child car seat! Items for children have been in the game since launch, but you couldn’t interact with them at all. I’m looking forward to mechanics with children’s beds and cradles, as well as a changing table.

It’s cool that there’s now clothing and hairstyles exclusive to the stores, now there’s a reason to visit them together with insoys.

I didn’t like the legs. What for? Are toes really hitting performance so hard? No. Are you seriously just repainting your legs for tights? Now it’s clear why the legs in tights look so bad. Just leave the old leg model and make a separate tights model for Zoi.

I’m still waiting and hoping for Kjun to make the same post with a video, but it will only show the fixed bugs and shortcomings of the game. Before - After. As in this video, there were a couple of frames.

I would love to see and hear more from the dev team, not only KJun. KJun is aboslutely wonderful, and I’m also curious to learn more about the dev team every few months. I want to occassionally see the dev team’s Zoi’s in a few videos. That would be fun.

As for the video, I love the idea of specific hairstyles and clothing items only being available in stores. If Zois dye their hair in the salon, their natural hair color in the roots should grow out after maybe 1 month of in-game time. If they get a haircut, their hair grows back after a while. This provides incentives to continue visiting specific businesses and builds immersion. This can expand to specific poses only available in yoga classes. Nightclubs playing exclusive music not available in home radios, and so on for other business types.

To improve the memory system, I want new conversations available after going to the same business maybe 10+ times. The business owner/employees recognizes you and asks if you want your usual order, which they remember, or if you want something new. If you skip a hair appointment, the next time you go the stylist mentions missing you and asks how you’ve been. The yoga teacher mentions how your yoga practice has improved after repeat visits, or declined due to lack of visits. If you are low on cash your Zoi looks less presentable because the have a lot of roots showing or their nails are chipped, maybe these affects their hygiene to some extent, or they feel uncomfortable.

Lastly, skills should decrease due to lack of use. If I build up to level 7 fitness, but don’t workout for an extended period, my skills should slowly drop. This can apply to cooking, art, music, charisma, and any other skill. Just like in real life, if you don’t stay consistent, you lose some progress over time. This is another way to build immersion.

Regarding hair growth - we’ve already discussed this idea. And if it’s introduced, it would be highly desirable to be able to turn it on and off. In some game scenarios this could be quite bothersome, particularly when creating stories.

As for the decline of unused skills, it especially requires mandatory adjustment. I think at least half of the players, if not more, will find it annoying to see an already well-developed ability drop. Constantly sending Sims to the gym, swimming, cooking, baking, singing, writing, programming, etc., just to maintain skills at their current level rather than improve them? That’s reminiscent of some kind of “challenge mode” That would be useful there, but not as the default in regular gameplay.

I agree. The decline of already learned skills, forgetting them, may be logical in real life, but when it comes to the game, it can only cause frustration from having to maintain these skills. Plus, if my Zoe wants to develop ALL possible skills, then it turns out I’ll have to constantly maintain all these skills so they don’t decline? I’ll go crazy, and where do I find the time for other aspects of the game, like family relationships, work, business, entertainment, etc. The game will feel like Groundhog Day, and even if skill decline isn’t so rapid, it will still demotivate me. And if I’m playing a large family, then skill decline will just be insane) I’ll have to keep track of the skill decline of all my Zoes.. I’m uncomfortable just thinking about it :joy: Plus, as time goes on, there will be more and more new skills in the game, so we’ll have plenty of interesting skills to learn and develop even without their decline)

Kjun and co.

May we get an update or any information regarding improvements on the Curseforge integration within Inzoi itself? The more mods one has installed the more time it takes for the integrated platform to install said mod and be able to move onto the next. My concern is if we are already seeing this happen with 1500+ mods what will happen later down the line with even more mods? I worry that it will affect players ability to download custom content through the integrated curseforge platform. It has already caused crashes within my own game when downloading items from Canvas that has undownloaded mods.

Thank you, Kjun, for the care you take in reading our comments on Discord.

Hi, as a hairstylist in the real world, I appreciate seeing some styles that you can only get at the salon, in the future I would love to see functioning shampoo bowls. I honestly giggled a little when I saw them because in the real world they would cause neck and back injuries lol. I also want to say I love being able to find unique things at different locations in the game! I was thrilled when I discovered that at Jenna Fashion.

Please, NO! I’m begging you!!! :sob: :sob: :sob:

I have a game with a baby. Aging is disabled, and I’m just enjoying how adorably and self-sufficiently children are depicted in the game right now!

My daughter crawls all over the house, plays with furniture and toys, occasionally interacts with adults — and is incredibly happy most of the time! And it’s so wonderful when a baby doesn’t look like a hysterical crying bundle of nerves that just causes the player frustration! Babies are easy to feed now, easy to change their diapers… And it all brings only positive emotions.

If you turn the feeding ceremony into a long tedious ritual that takes up loads of time — that will be a disaster! If the child cries every 2 hours at night and demands attention — that will also be a disaster!

I’m not opposed to having any options in interactions. Let sims dance on their hands in front of a baby or perform a handstand if they want — and let it entertain the child. But leave us the ability to not do it as mandatory like it is now! :folded_hands: Let it be an additional option for boosting mood, not a need without which the child becomes unhappy.

I’m writing this on behalf of at least 4 other people I know who were also horrified when they saw these lines. So please, take this into account! :folded_hands:

I’m also shocked by these desires to turn the game into a simulator, which has another package of simulators nested inside it, and in that package, in turn, there’s yet another stack of packages with tiny simulators.
Confusing, but you get the idea. I don’t want such a package within packages.
If someone needs a realistic simulator of childbirth, feeding, preparing infant formula, and wiping poop, let them look for another game.
P.S. I hope after translation, my words don’t come across as rude. I didn’t mean to offend anyone.

I honestly think it should just be optional :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Some players want realistic parenting and some don’t. As long as there are settings, nannies, or ways to simplify it

I agree. I love the family gameplay at the moment because it doesn’t cause unnecessary stress. Adding more steps to feeding babies and having babies cry throughout the night will only make family gameplay tedious and stressful. I know happy babies that sleep through the night aren’t realistic but in real life it doesn’t take parents 20 minutes to walk from the kitchen to the baby’s room.

Maybe the idea was to use specialized furniture? Right now a pregnant character is no different from a regular one—there isn’t even maternity clothing. And the baby just lies on the floor, constantly making sounds like crying and is always unhappy about something. Childcare basically comes down to Zoe approaching the baby and doing something with it. Meanwhile, all the children’s furniture goes unused. Even the crib appears on its own when the baby falls asleep. In that case, it would make sense to have basic interactions like putting the baby in a high chair for feeding, changing diapers on a special changing table, putting the baby down in a crib (maybe reading bedtime stories), and so on.

At this stage, I don’t think infancy is self-sufficient as it is. It’s boring and repetitive. So introducing new interactions would really improve the gameplay. That said, I don’t think the existing functions would be removed, so if you don’t feel like bothering with seating the baby, you could still just feed it from a bottle, and so on.

I’m not against an approach like adding interaction options.

But at the same time, I saw what topics about motherhood were brought up precisely this week. If Kjun and the team were specifically orienting themselves toward them — childcare is promising to turn into a nightmare!

There were proposals for preparing infant formula almost minute by minute, constantly running to get fresh ingredients for it, the risk of overheating or underheating the formula during preparation, which would cause the child to suffer from burns or cold, refuse to eat and cry for a long time afterward, recovering. The formula needs to be constantly fresh because it spoils quickly, and after eating it, the child would suffer from colic and cry all night again, not letting anyone sleep…

You need to pack a bag for the maternity hospital, counting the number of towels, food, and diapers packed, which you have to remember to pack in advance, otherwise you’ll need to make some purchases at the maternity hospital at inflated prices… The only thing missing is a proposal to introduce an arcade element so we’d be shown the process of childbirth, and the player would have to moan into the microphone at the right time when the doctor says “Push, push!” otherwise the child would be born with some kind of abnormality :expressionless_face: :expressionless_face: :expressionless_face:

In short, this is just insane! Almost nothing useful or interesting was proposed, and what was proposed, if implemented, would turn the game into a “simulator of children terrorizing players.” Nobody would ever want to have a child under such conditions, everyone would play only as childless families, or adopt children, because nobody would want to experience this horror again and again :sob:

Thanks for clarifying. Personally, I’m one of those players who want more realism in that area, so why not make it an optional setting and keep everyone happy? Everyone has their own way of playing.
