Does this problem resemble this? Can you send a picture/detailed information?

Looking at the screenshots, I’m not entirely convinced this is a Depth of Field issue but . The face itself seems fairly sharp, while the blur appears to be concentrated around the eyes behind the glasses.

  • Which anti-aliasing setting are you using? Does switching to another AA method change the result?
  • Are you using DLSS, FSR, XeSS, Frame Generation, or Dynamic Resolution?
  • Are you using any mods at all?
  • What mod are you playing on? (Ultra, Medium etc

Could you try removing the glasses and see if the issue persists? It might be related to the glasses material, lens refraction, or another post-processing effect rather than shoulder-view DOF.

Hope we get to the bottom of this :psycat_standing:

The first picture shows the shoulder view with DOF applied, and the second one is the regular top view. As you can see, the image clearly gets blurry in the shoulder view with DOF. I uploaded both of them so you could compare the difference

Previously, the face stayed sharp and only the background was blurred. But now, even the face gets completely blurry. Nobody applies DOF just to make the character’s face blurry.

On top of that, the blur effect itself has become really ugly. Before, it was a truly immersive blur, but now it’s just a low-quality, ugly blur.

It seems like the blur effect broke because the shoulder view angle got wider in this latest update.

Hi,

I completely understand your frustration but Could you please share your specs with us and whether you use mods or not? It is essential so we can help.

Please, share the save file so the team can look on it.

Now to try and help you as much as I can:

  1. What resolution and upscaling settings (DLSS/FSR/XeSS) are you using?
  2. Does the blur remain if you stand completely still, or does it improve after a few seconds?
  3. Have you noticed the same behavior both before and after changing the shoulder-view FOV?

I will try to reproduce it and get back to this later.

PS.Very cute zoi!

Hey! @itsmechiie7 beat you to it!

@GreenDove I have tried adding DOF (I normally play without it) and I really see no difference. Could you screenshot your graphic settings so that I can try to reproduce it with more fidelity?
