Bug only showed up today 20/06/26 UTC 8. Trees appear on doors and windows. Whenever I delete and replace them, they will show up again on a different object. It also now appears on other assets like counter tops and carpets.
I already tried bulldozing the lot and dropping the house again, also created a new save but same issue occurs.
Details: Please share the date, error message, or screenshots/videos for issue verification.
As already reported, trees appear in the middle of houses as soon as you switch to building mode. But there’s also another problem — as soon as you click on Building Mode, you end up at the roof level, neither in the room nor on the floor where you need to make modifications. This is a huge problem in large multi-story houses, because every time you have to search for the location where you needed to make a modification, which isn’t easy when it’s a downloaded house and therefore not yet perfectly familiar
Hey, thank you for sharing this issue. It has already been reported here so I hope the forum staff will merge the topics so that the discussion is more productive.
About your bug, I have honestly been building with no issues since the update, so I wonder what could have gone wrong. Could you please share your computer specs and maybe the save that has been affected? That way, the devs will have a smoother time looking into it and finding what went wrong to fix it.
Hey @CataliaBDX I had a similar issue after big updates, and what helped me was starting a new game. Have you tried a new save?
Try delete the extra objects first, save the preset, then open a new game and place the house again.
Sometimes old world data sticks around after big patches, and a clean save usually clears those leftovers.
Hopefully that fixes the trees.
Hey @idlrtry
If you want, you can try the same steps I shared in the other post — deleting the extra objects, saving the preset, and then placing the house again in a fresh save. I had a similar issue after the update, and that fixed it for me. https://forum.playinzoi.com/t/topic/14088/4?u=lixydesigns170
Since there is already an existing thread about this bug issue (tree appearing inside the house), I will merge this thread with the existing one to make it easier to track and provide updates but rest assured we will check the other issue separately. Thank you.
My concern is that I never actually play, I have several housing saves and decorated settings that are made to showcase my creations only. Some where I need in the same save 2 houses with 2 Sims in love, who can go to each other’s place when I need to take photos with both, you know my creations well, so you know what I’m talking about
Hello @CataliaBDX,
We have identified an issue where, when entering Build Mode while floor lock is enabled, the camera is automatically moved to the top floor of the building.
This issue has been reproduced and is scheduled to be fixed in a future hotfix. We will let you know once the fix has been implemented.
(@here) And for the issue “trees appearing in the middle of houses”, we were not able to reproduce the issue, so it would be great if we could receive the Save files.
@CataliaBDX Even if the save is only for photos or testing, the game still keeps old world data inside it. After updates, that leftover data can make random objects from previous builds show up inside the lot.
Trying a new save usually clears that old info, even for showcase worlds, and after a major update, starting a fresh save is generally the safest option.
