Furniture inside saved Homes disappear but are still there

  • Issue Date: 03/26/2026

  • Error Message: At first it says “Items not owned have not been applied.” and when I try to place an item it says “Furniture cannot overlap”

  • Details:

This bug actually happened before this newest patch, but I finally signed up to report it after trying hard to fix it. I didn’t see any post about disappearing furniture like this so I wanted to try my hand. I built a home awhile ago and saved it into the prebuilds. Somehow when loading the house now items such as my desk and chairs have seemingly disappeared, but not completely, and not all of them. Things such as plants and computers can sit on it but Zoi’ds can’t interact with the items that sit on the invisible desk or use them. I cannot grab the invisible desk and chair to delete them from where they previously were. When I try to place another item in it’s place it gives me the same “Furniture cannot overlap” excuse. The game tells me my desk and chair are still there (As highlighted in red) but I can not see or get rid of them.

Extra context:

  • Zoi’s can’t use the computer even though it is sitting on the desk and there was a chair in place.
  • I cannot hover over invisible item to understand what it was that “disappeared”
  • I deleted the floor once in an attempt to fix the issue….that doesn’t work. All furniture just falls under the ground and it ruins the room.
  • I’ve overlapped with items but then computer can’t sit on top of the desk and Zoi’ds can’t use the item due to this. It also makes chairs unusable
  • This wasn’t a modded desk. There was no mod that was deleted it was a custom desk from the craft tool. The chair might have been as well. Or they both were just basic in-game furniture. (It’s been a bit)

Some Photo’s of the issue…

Will show you with a deleted computer there is still somehow a table and chair still there.

It happened with the living room desk and chair as well for this saved place. (Again was not modded or downloaded)

However it did not happen with my upstairs bedroom…

This is an ancient bug dating back to the release of “Cahaya”. It has been reported multiple times. Furniture created at the workbench behaves incorrectly. For some it’s not clickable, for others it disappears (like in your case).

To remove invisible furniture, run a wall through it, and then delete that wall.

There is no other way to get rid of invisible furniture. In my game, I don’t use such furniture—it’s not clickable for me and slightly sinks into the floor. I’m waiting for them to fix this.

  • After updating and logging in, the following items were gone: Synthesizer, Guitar, Record Player, First Aid Kit and crafting table (maybe more?). They were not put into my bag or inventory or sold.

Here’s me with my guitar and synth before updating (I miss them):

Here’s the sad corner where they used to be (so sad):

Having the same issue, furniture ‘disapear’ when realoading a previous save file, but when trying to REPLACE the missing item the game thinks there’s something there and won’t allow ‘furniture to overlap’!

Quick Update:

I downgraded the game to an earlier version. When I logged in, all my stuff was there. So, I put all of the items in my building inventory and saved the game. Then I upgraded again. After upgrading, all my stuff was gone again - this time out of my INVENTORY. Maybe we can’t have guitars or synthesizers anymore?

Anyway, I think I’m taking a break from InZoi.

Hello @coaleb, I’ve merged your post into this thread since it relates to the same issue. Thanks!

Hello everyone (@here),
Thank you for your report, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi again @coaleb.
We were unable to reproduce the issue on our end, so we would like to gather a bit more information.

Could you let us know which property preset you are referring to? A Canvas link would be very helpful.

Additionally, if possible, please provide the name or any details of the property so we can look into it more accurately.

Thank you for your understanding.

You connected the thread incorrectly. The first post by @chain34a is about furniture created at the workbench (table and chair). The post by @coaleb is about items from the game. The synthesizer and guitar were not created at the workbench.

@AR_Luna ,

I’m in the default Dowon Villa apartment. I did not use a preset. I did not make any changes to the property itself. I’m not using any crafted items. I’m not using any mods. All the missing items are common store-bought items:

  • Record Player
  • Guitar
  • Guitar Stand
  • Synthesizer
  • Mic & stand
  • Bookcase

My setup is about as vanilla as it gets. As @NyushaDm said, I’m not sure my issue is related to the bug you merged it with. In my case, items were deleted from my inventory, and none of those items were crafted or from Canvas.

I have a similar issue with a Canvas mod, a seat that I later uninstalled, and my villagers that were sitting on it were sitting in the void when I launched the game. And of course the game considered the spot as occupied, so it was impossible to place anything else in that location.

Hello everyone (@here),
We have merged the topic to follow up with missing items, and we ask for your understanding.

Could you provide the compressed preset file of the property so that we can check on the issue thoroughly?

Thank you.

Hello @coaleb,
We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have checked on the issue with your save file but we could not reproduce it. Could you send us the preset file of the property after saving it with the button in the image?

Thank you for your cooperation.

Hello @coaleb,
Thank you for your report.

Could you please confirm whether the issue occurred after placing an auto-saved preset after the update?

After updating the property, previously placed presets may need to be placed again. We kindly ask you to try placing the auto-saved preset.

For automatically saved presets due to property standardization, you can check them using the following steps:

  1. Enter Build Mode on the lot where you want to place the preset

  2. Select the Filter button in the Preset tab

  3. Choose “Types of Storage” > “Auto Save”

  4. Check the automatically saved presets

Also, when attempting to place the auto-saved property in the Dowon Villa apartment, a pop-up asking to enable cheats may appear. Please don’t be concerned and proceed with enabling it.

If the issue persists, please tell me. Thank you.

Hi @chain34a,
We are currently investigating an issue where placement may be blocked by invisible items. Thank you.

Hi @AR_Luna ,

Again, I did not use a preset. I didn’t even know that was something you could do until you asked me to send you one. I just moved into the apartment, as-is. Then I added a few furniture items to my home, and after the update those items disappeared.
