Steps to Reproduce: Turn Frane Generation on
My Game freezes but does not crash as soon as Frame generation is turned on, no matter the in game settings, happens in all save files and even new ones
The game freezes completely with no way to even exit the game with only task manager working to close the game
I have a similar problem, when switching between familie members that are in some 100 meters distance, game come not back from the loading screen. But I can close it with Alt F4 and the minimize /maximize… stuff still works. Its not a problem with CPU usage or so.. the code is maybe searching the line with return from the loading subroutine^^
But I have still more lags in the game.. all is stunned for some seconds, like on automatically saving in the background. But there are no saves…
I loaded one of my save files and turned frame gen on for the test (the automatic setting). There were some frame drops at first, while the game adjusted to the new settings, then it stabilized within less than 30-40 seconds. Then I played for 15 minutes, mostly in public places (Dowon Harang Park) with a three-Zoi household, but one of them is a newborn.
No additional frame drops happened, only the ones which have been common for inZOI ever since launch. Frame Gen added between 30-50 extra frames on top of the natively rendered ones, but it worked flawlessly. Absolutely no freezes or crashes.
Would you guys please let us know what your in-game settings are? Also did you check if you have the latest driver updates installed already?
EDIT: Anybody who stumbles upon this thread, please consider testing Frame Gen in your game and reporting your results here too. It’d be good to know whether this is mostly a Technical Help or Bug Reports issue
I found this in another thread: deleting ALL the cache folders/files relating to inZOI and Unreal may fix this. That would be D3DSCache, inZOI, CrashReportClient, CrashDumps, cache, BlueClient, and Steam’s inZOI folders. Also do a clean install.
I did this myself after some very scary full PC freezes. So far, zero issues with either the game or ModKit. Both had been freezing the whole PC before.
UPDATE: My game is still full locking after doing these steps.
I thought I should reply to this and tell you guys that my HDD was dying and it was the reason for all of my issues. On a new PC, the game runs flawlessly and so does Modkit!
