1. Let Us Change Lot Types
One of my biggest wishes is the ability to change lot types. Right now, if a lot is residential, it stays residential. I’d love the option to convert it into something else or make it a completely custom lot.
For example, I’d like to turn a “house lot” into:
- A coffee shop
- A smoothie shop
- A grocery store
- A bookstore
- A clothing store
- A restaurant
- A gym
- A bakery
- A bar
- A lounge
I don’t necessarily want to own these businesses. I just want to build them so my city feels unique and has more places to visit.
2. More Apartment Variety
I’d love to see apartments that represent different income levels.
Right now, there are plenty of luxury apartments, but not many affordable ones.
I’d love to see:
- Low-income apartments
- Middle-income apartments
- Luxury apartments
- Penthouses
I also really want to be able to preview an apartment before I rent it. It’s frustrating having to rent a place without knowing what the layout looks like.
I’d like to be able to:
- Walk through the apartment
- See the floor plan
- Check out the furniture layout
- Look at the view from the windows
3. Improve the Lot Switching Experience
Switching between lots feels pretty clunky right now.
I’d love a smoother, faster system with cleaner transitions and fewer loading screens. It would make moving around the city feel much more natural.
4. More Places to Visit
The world needs a lot more places where your character can spend time outside of work and home.
Some ideas include:
- Grocery stores
- Supermarkets
- Home improvement stores
- Toy stores
- Pet stores
- Smoothie shops
- Ice cream shops
Having more everyday locations would make the city feel much more alive.
5. Let Players Build Their Own Businesses
I think one of the coolest features would be letting players build businesses that simply exist in the world.
For example, I could build my own version of a large superstore that sells groceries, clothing, home goods, electronics, and more. Think of stores like Walmart or Target in the United States.
The point isn’t to own the business. The point is to create a city that feels unique and personalized.
6. Entertainment Districts
I’d love parts of the city that become busy at night.
Imagine an area with:
- Bars
- Lounges
- Karaoke
- Live music
- Restaurants
- Street food
It would be fun to spend an evening bar hopping, trying different restaurants, or just hanging out.
7. More Reasons to Explore
I’d love more gameplay that encourages exploration.
Things like:
- Hidden collectibles
- Pop-up events
- Random discoveries
The city should always have something new to find.
8. Crime and Safety
This might sound a little strange, but I think having a small chance of getting robbed would actually make the world feel more realistic.
For example:
- A small chance of being robbed while walking at night.
- Pickpocketing in crowded areas.
- Bike theft.
Players could buy items that lower the chances of being robbed, such as:
- Pepper spray
- A personal safety alarm
- A whistle
- A flashlight
If something is stolen, players could visit the police station to file a report. Maybe after a few in-game days there’s a chance the money or item is recovered.
I think it would create interesting and unexpected stories.
9. More Fitness Activities
I’d love to see a lot more exercise options.
Some ideas include:
- Jogging around the city
- Running clubs
- Pilates
- Yoga
- Spin classes
- Dance fitness
- Outdoor boot camps
- Group fitness classes
It would be even better if group classes happened at scheduled times throughout the day.
10. Friends Should Invite You Out
Right now, it feels like the player always has to initiate social interactions.
I’d love friends to randomly text you and say things like:
- “Want to grab coffee?”
- “We’re going to karaoke tonight.”
- “Want to go shopping?”
- “We’re hanging out at the lounge.”
You could decide whether to go or stay home.
That would make friendships feel much more natural.
11. Company Happy Hours
After work, coworkers could occasionally invite you out for happy hour.
Maybe everyone goes to:
- A lounge
- A bar
- A restaurant
- Karaoke
- A rooftop bar
Not every company would do this, but some workplaces could have a stronger social culture than others.
12. Friends Coming Over
I’d love if friends would occasionally text you and ask:
“Hey! Are you home? Can I come over?”
When they arrive, they could have different emotions or situations.
Maybe they’re:
- Sad
- Excited
- Angry
- Celebrating a promotion
- Going through a breakup
- Looking for advice
You could comfort them, celebrate with them, cook together, watch TV, play games, or just spend time talking.
I think little moments like this would make friendships feel much deeper and make the game feel more alive.
Overall
I absolutely love inZOI, and I think it has the potential to become one of the best life simulation games ever made. My biggest wish is for the world to feel more dynamic and spontaneous. I want the city to feel like it’s living alongside me instead of waiting for me to make something happen. More places to visit, more unexpected social interactions, more realistic everyday events, and more opportunities to create my own city would add so much depth and replayability to the game.
