A More Realistic Day/Night Cycle with Seasonal Sunset Changes

I’d like to suggest an improvement concerning the day/night cycle in InZOI.

While playing, I noticed that night seems to arrive quite early, around 6 p.m. This time can be realistic during certain periods of the year, particularly in winter in some regions, but it doesn’t match all seasons or all locations.

In reality, the sunset time varies greatly throughout the year. It would therefore be interesting if nightfall evolved naturally according to the seasons, with longer evenings in summer and nights arriving earlier in winter.

One downside of night consistently arriving around 6 p.m. is that it also affects gameplay. At that time, certain daytime activities become less appealing, because the game’s atmosphere gives the impression that the day is already coming to an end, when in certain periods of the year it should still be daylight and possible to fully enjoy outdoor activities.

A more dynamic day/night cycle would allow the atmosphere to better adapt to the seasons and would make days feel more natural and immersive.

I believe this improvement would make the cities more realistic and offer players a more varied experience.

Yes, I agree. It is necessary to take into account the position of the planet relative to the sun at each time of the year + the approximate location of the city from the position of the equator of the planet.

For developers: you will need to enter one variable for the Sun (Direction of Light) - the variable Speed Sun acceleration and link it to the variable of the Sun’s motion. The bottom line is that in summer the sun shines during the day longer than at night, and in winter the opposite is true. This variable will control the speed of the sun’s movement depending on the time of day and the time of the year. You also need to set the sun at each location at its own angle, depending on the distance from the equator: The closer the city is to the equator of the planet, the more direct the sun is to the sky, the shorter the day and the speed of sunrises and sunsets. Conversely, the farther away the location is from the equator of the planet, the greater the angle of the sun relative to the sky, the longer the day and the smoother the sunrises and sunsets.
