  • Platform: Steam

  • Mods: Have never used them
:round_pushpin:If you have used mods before, please list them:

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…): N/A

  • Steps to Reproduce: Launch game, Update properties, all stuff is gone

I wish it was possible for you guys to update the game without tossing all of my furniture every time. As soon as I logged in, the now familiar “update properties, this cannot be undone” message. Then I get to my apartment and EVERYTHING is gone. I just immediately shut the game off. I quit. I cannot do this anymore.

What I lost this time (just from memory)

  • Guitar
  • Synthesizer
  • Carpet
  • Camera
  • Record Player
  • Mixer
  • Fridge
  • Laptop
  • Multiple Custom pictures and frames
  • Plants

That’s just what I can think of off the top of my head. If I have to start over completely for every single update, it’s just not worth it guys. Best of luck.

Have you checked whether your version of the plot was saved in drafts?

During the last update, all structures were successfully moved to templates, from which they could then be manually restored. There’s surely something like that this time too. Especially since no one complained about losing anything in the last update. Maybe you forgot to re-enable mods when you logged into the game, and that’s why all the custom content disappeared from your plot?

Honestly, when that popped up and I confirmed the update on properties, nothing was saved in the templates. I just reloaded the game and had to save it manually. With the latest update, I didn’t do it, because the template is unable to save my crafted items like the paintings and sculptures I did.

I basically got the default house back that was on the property when I started my game.

So from now on, I don’t confirm the update on properties I use.

Really? Well, that’s a shame, of course. I guess I’ll have to wait for it to leave early access.

I always update everything anyway. Just to avoid potential problems later on. I understand it can be annoying, but it’s not done without reason — developers consider it necessary to make changes if even empty sections are affected. So it must be strictly necessary :slightly_smiling_face:

The only property I don’t update for now is the one I am living on and I didn’t encounter any bugs so far in that regard.

The good thing is, if I encounter anything, there is still the possibility to update it later through the options, but since I didn’t notice any difference, I leave my property as is for now.

I don’t blame the game for now, it’s still early access, but it would be nice to see, what the actual update to the property does because so far it only reset my house to the default one without noticeable changes or I am just dull:sweat_smile:

There could be some very subtle changes. For example, a fence might have been placed in a way that created routing issues, and they decided to fix that.

At Cahaya in the beachfront house, I observed at least twice how the lounge chairs by the pool changed, the color of the bean bag chairs changed, and small decorative objects were added. That is, the house became at least more filled, although this wasn’t immediately noticeable, and I definitely wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t actively been rebuilding it before that.

In Dowon there’s an empty plot called Aram. There I regularly saw how Zoe would walk in some circles to approach the house, as if avoiding something invisible, like along half the plot there was an invisible fence stretching. And lately I haven’t noticed such behavior. True, I almost never went there, but you could even check specifically. It’s possible that something like that is being fixed, because otherwise why would they update an empty plot whose size didn’t even change when they were brought to a uniform standard? So not all updates can be noted visually, but they’re all done for a reason.

The plot I am at wasn’t empty. I moved into a house, which was already there (it was in Bliss Bay, but I can’t remember the name of the property right now).

I basically renovated the whole interior and added a garden and once I did that update, it got reset to the starter house from when I first moved in. So it is hard for me to see differences, when everything I put there gets reset.

So to me right now (and it seems also to the OP), it only reverses everything I build. The default house might have a few more objects now, but it doesn’t outweigh the complete reset of what I changed in the house.

I understand all that :folded_hands: I’m talking about something a bit different.

Of course, plots get reset to their original state when updated, the way the developers created them. I’m just talking about the reasons why this might have happened.

There might have been some bug preventing normal item placement in the future, or disrupting zone behavior, or something else. And it makes sense that they want to fix this for those who will start a new game on this plot in the future.

Maybe if you didn’t update the plot, nothing bad would happen — let’s say you’ll never change those buggy details that ended up there. Or maybe there are no bugs at all, and the developers just decided the bathroom lacked some decoration, and for the sake of a couple of bottles by the sink they’re offering to completely update the entire plot. Anything is possible. I’m only speaking for myself: I don’t really mind resetting everything I change. Because I don’t have much time for gaming and building something new and ambitious.

But when summer ends and the final version of the game comes out — then I’ll be able to tackle something ambitious in terms of building. I don’t think that after that they’ll regularly remake user lots instead of public ones.
