More Realistic Household Routines, Home Functionality & School liveliness — Making School Gameplay and Homes Feel Lived-In

:broom: :house_with_garden: :school: :family_man_man_boy_boy: More Realistic Household Routines & School Functionality — Making Homes Feel Lived-In

A home should feel like a place where Zois truly live, not just a place where objects are placed.

It would be wonderful if household objects had more meaningful functionality and Zois could naturally interact with them based on their personality and daily life:

• Putting items back after using them instead of leaving everything where they were used.
• Household objects showing signs of use over time and occasionally needing maintenance or repair.
• Household chores becoming shared responsibilities, with each Zoi contributing based on their personality, age, or schedule.
• More meaningful interactions with appliances and storage, making homes feel truly functional rather than decorative.

Homes could also become places for meaningful social interactions:

• School friends could come over after class to work on homework or research projects together.
• Friends could stay for a meal while chatting about school, exams, teachers, hobbies, or future plans.
• Weekend study sessions could naturally strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
• Friends could occasionally invite your Zoi to their own home for homework, research, meals, or simply to spend time together.

School life could also feel more social:

• Best friends could invite each other to eat lunch together during break time.
• Teachers could spend their breaks eating and chatting together in the staff room, discussing school life, lesson plans, and upcoming events, making schools feel more authentic.
• Students could occasionally receive invitations from classmates to join group study sessions or school projects after class.

These kinds of everyday interactions would make both homes and schools feel much more alive, creating meaningful stories and stronger relationships without the player having to direct every moment.

Thank you so much for all the hard work and passion you continue to put into inZOI. The weekly development updates and your openness to community feedback are greatly appreciated. I hope ideas like these can help make the world feel even more immersive and alive. Keep up the amazing work! :house_with_garden::school::sparkles:

:warning: SOME FEATURES ALREADY EXIST IN GAME, IT WOULD MAKE THEM MEANINGFUL IF THEY EXPAND THEM

I like the general goal of making everyday life feel more natural, but I think this suggestion would be clearer if it separated what is already in the game from what should actually be expanded.

Repairs, cleaning, laundry, homework, study groups, inviting friends over, and eating together already exist in some form. So the main request seems to be better autonomy and stronger connections between those existing systems—for example, household members sharing chores more naturally, classmates coming home together after school, studying without constant player direction, staying for dinner, and leaving at an appropriate time.

Some parts are also quite vague. What would “more meaningful interactions with appliances and storage” mean in actual gameplay? Would Zois put groceries into cupboards, organise shelves, retrieve ingredients, or react differently to worn objects? Likewise, would “shared responsibilities” involve a chore schedule, household assignments, or improved autonomous behaviour?

I think there are good ideas here, especially more natural after-school visits and better household autonomy. However, focusing on those concrete improvements would make the proposal easier to understand than describing several existing features as part of one broad “living world” system.

I got sick of my zois always watching tv, especially the children. I definitely would love this.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! My main intention was definitely to expand and connect existing systems rather than replace them. I especially meant making these interactions happen more naturally through autonomy—for example, classmates going home together after school, studying, staying for dinner, and leaving at an appropriate time without constant player direction. I also like your examples for appliances and storage. Those kinds of interactions are exactly the sort of functionality I’d love to see expanded. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts !

That’s a good idea :light_bulb:
