v0.10.0 SmartZoi Crashing Game (fellow players, please submit your files too!)

  • Windows 11 Home 25H2, Intel Core i7-12650H 2.70 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, 8 GB VRAM, 32 GB RAM 4800 MT/s, 1 TB Storage

• Steps to Reproduce:

1. Turn on SmartZoi

2. Load into any save. Results in crash.

   OR

3. With SmartZoi off, load into any save

4. Activate SmartZoi while in Live Mode, then play for about 5-10 minutes, unpaused. Results in crash.

• Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.

  • Not a Save-Specific Issue
  • Latest Crash Dump File: Here is one of the files B1_Crash_ExtraContext.zip (21.7 KB)
    • I’ve emailed the full crash dump folder to the team via the Support Ticket portal https://support.playinzoi.com/hc/en-us/requests/new, just in case this isn’t enough.

• Details: I’m making this post as directed by the team on the Discord server. In short, my game crashes every time SmartZoi is activated.

  • If I turn SmartZoi on from the main menu, the game crashes while loading into any save

  • If I turn SmartZoi on after already loading into the game, the game crashes within 5-10 minutes of unpaused gameplay.

  • Before the crash, Zois will start stuttering heavily in movement, the game lags, the audio glitches out, and finally the game freezes and crashes to my desktop.

  • Happens faster when my Zois are in areas congested with many other Zois, so it’s definitely a SmartZoi issue.

  • My SmartZoi settings at the time of the crash:

If anyone else wants to submit their Crash Dump Files for the SmartZoi issue, here is how to find the files The support portal didn’t let me upload .rar files, but it did accept .zip files, so keep that in mind when you’re compressing your crash folder!

@AR_Luna Hello! I am still experiencing this issue. None of the hotfixes or updates addressing the SmartZoi crashes since I made my report have stopped the crashing in my game. Now, instead of crashing 5 minutes after activating SmartZoi, it crashes instantly.

I am now on Windows Home 26H2. My OS and graphics card are up to date, and I still do not use mods. Please, is there any way I can get SmartZoi to work? It worked perfectly for me before the September update, and I’m sad I haven’t gotten to experience the big upgrades.
