There are a couple scenarios I’d like to address here, and both of them delete money from your Zoi’s bank account.
I’ll start with the fridge being in use. I have seen this occur when multiple Zois are hungry. I’ll send one to the stove to cook, they’ll walk over there, and while they’re walking, another Zoi will decide to take something out of the fridge (autonomously). When the Zoi reaches the stove, the menu opens and you select the meal to prepare. If, at the moment you close this menu, another Zoi is interacting with the fridge, the attempt to cook will be blocked but the money will still be spent.
I have tested this and learned that the interfering Zoi must already be at the fridge for this to happen. Deciding to, and walking to the fridge don’t lock out the cooking Zoi from using it.
Second, if a Zoi autonomously decided to have a quick meal, they IMMEDIATELY spend that money. You can’t stop it by cancelling the task, as soon as they decide to, it’s spent.
Please change the timing of the money being spent to after ingredients are actually taken out of the fridge, not before. It will solve both of these problems.
Also it would be nice if you could cancel a quick meal after the Zoi has started the animation of opening the fridge - so you can stop them from spending that money (and creating clutter) if you cancel before the animation is finished. In case you didn’t catch them before they opened it.
I just don’t want them to spend money autonomously in general or else I have to constantly micro manage every single person. I just want to be able to have real family gameplay where you cook for the whole family.
I agree but that’s a different topic. This is specifically about the timing of the money being deleted. Simplifying group meals is something else which also needs to be addressed.
Edit: Different, but obviously related. If there was better handling of family meals, and he would have automatically started eating what he cooked (I believe he was interrupted because she came over to take a plate) he wouldn’t have automatically cooked something else.
I have a correction to make… They’re not blowing money instantly on quick meals. They’re choosing from the cooking menu on the spot, without going to the stove. This is what I’m talking about.
THIS GUY. Makes a family sized Fish and Chips, puts it on the table, then autonomously walks away to make Gemista. He spontaneously deleted the money and there was no way I could have stopped it.
For me, it’s one of the things I miss — being able to prepare helpful family meals, and the fact that quick meals don’t satisfy in the same way or make me indifferent between one and another.
