Just a small niggle really, though it does make some school interactions a bit difficult.
Surfaces in lessons which involve crafting quickly become filled with items, so it is impossible for played zois to fulfil the task of ie: making a sculpture. Npc zois have no such issues and can clip items through each other, and even clip through one another to work at the same bench (not intended behaviour, I am sure).
Nobody but my zoi picks anything up or does anything to clear surfaces, so I spend half the allotted lesson time clearing up so that I can do the required task.
This is particularly true in the cooking club, where all surfaces are full of dishes and ingredients even before the club starts, meaning my zoi cannot do any cooking and instead has to run around putting things in the fridge or the rubbish bin, and no sooner has she cleared a surface than another zoi has filled it again. As a result she cannot do any cooking and fails every time, which is annoying.
TLDR: Could putting things away possibly be added to the list of actions specified for the necessary classes (Technology, Cooking Club) so that crafting can continue?
Just to illustrate the problem. Npc’s have no issue cooking on the same surface as each other, or on a surface which is occupied with dishes. This is somewhat unfair as played zois need an entire, clear surface to operate, which means their contribution to the club is always negligible.
It took my zoi 2 hours to manage to clear a surface so that she could cook one time. Frustrating and not fun.
I should add that when my zoi does finally manage to cook, she autonomously decided to bake instead of “cook”, which did not complete her goal. This is probably because the current club goal is to bake, which does not align with the scheduled task.
Yet another issue with this club (today is obviously the first time I have tried it) is that my zoi started cooking a couple of times, then just stopped the action mid-way, and the ingredients (which she had paid for) disappeared. She never does this when cooking at home, and there she gets to eat the food, too.
I think she was down about 100M by the end of the class, she had not managed to complete the one goal (which should have been easy), and her cooking skill had not increased either. Needless to say I have quit this club until it is fixed.
The interactive school should really have an option to either use the Old style school like the children attend or the interactive one when I have a parent at home I am waiting to focus on to dive or whatever but can’t cause need to focus on the teenager at school… however the stations all get clogged
Art class no non-playable tosses paintings, in sculpting class they don’t toss sculptures, in cooking class they don’t toss food or clean tables.
I want the old school system back it was far better especially with a prom every single week .. sighs.
I really like the interactive school, though there is clearly an issue with npcs never clearing their created stuff, so that needs tweaking.
I think you are right though, there should be an option if possible to revert to rabbit-hole schools for those who already have a lot of zois to manage (including those in active careers).
@SmallArchangel You can switch to the rabbit hole schools. I was discussing this with @HeinziDerHeld and he confirmed it again, because I remembered that it was possible. Here is the post:
Thank you Minthyuyu, I have just checked and you are correct, there is a choice of 2 schools in Dowon where my teen is, and one appears to be a rabbit-hole. I am fine with the active school at the moment as I have a single teen zoi, but great to know the option is there if any of my families actually get that far without self-destructing
Just an update to say that, while the cooking classroom counters seem to at least start off clear, my zoi now cannot cook at all due to all cookers apparently being unavailable as seen below.
I have noticed that all of the cooker tops now have a pan on them, I assume this is why they are unavailable for use as the ovens seem to work fine for baking.
As you can see in this image, all the pans on cooker tops and chopping boards on counters are unfinished items which prevent further cooking actions. All must be continued or cleared before my zoi can cook. (Also after the latest update to autonomy, every member of the club has left almost immediately to wander off and do something random, my zoi tried to aswell but I wouldn’t let her).
