[09.11.26] Canvastown Preview (Updated)

I’ve been looking into why I had a certain understanding of the CT roadmap and I was quite puzzled by the reaction of other community members and their disappointment. As I’ve said in other posts, it’s completely understandable because apparently throughout the year a series of concepts have been communicated that haven’t been clear, and this has caused a feeling of disappointment in part of the community.

In my case, I had a different understanding, and it’s this one:

The concept was that CT would be the gateway to cooperative gameplay, among other things.

And from what had been discussed, I had the idea that they were separate projects and wouldn’t negatively impact each other.

With this I want to say that in this post [1.2.26] Beyond the Fundamentals 2026 Roadmap_Part2 (Updated) it had been discussed that CT indeed brought with it the idea of cooperation between players. Perhaps over time and other news, more attention was focused on the possibility it offered us to create our own city, but I think the main idea was never abandoned.

There were comments and a clarification from the team regarding resource allocation and the independence of the project. By then people were already worried about the shift in focus and they clarified that this was being developed independently.

I’m citing this because after having read some comments and how the community has become divided, I wanted to remind myself why I had the idea that CT was the gateway to coop and MMO mode.

I think maybe some have been confusing ideas and concepts and have thought that it would be something imposed on them, or that they’re delaying the Inzoi project to focus on CT and MMO mode, or that they’ve simply been deprived of the possibility of building that city from scratch.

I think nothing could be further from the truth. CT was always born with the idea of being able to be something cooperative, as many of you have rightly said, a place where we build our own city and use it, and also a separate independent project that might not even have to be installed with the base game.

I think it’s important that we remember this to understand that what was presented a few hours ago isn’t final and that it’s simply an idea that comes from earlier that should also receive feedback and won’t negatively impact our single player game but will instead add more gameplay systems and development as planned.

With this I don’t mean to offend or devalue anyone, I simply thought that maybe if we remember the earlier impressions and comments we can better understand where we are and why it’s being done this way.

Please, it’s not my intention to judge or criticize anyone’s frustration, it’s totally understandable. All of this is with the best of intentions so that we don’t think wrongly or can better cope with the feeling of frustration :heart_hands:
