My concerns and suggestions about the "CanvasTown" neighborhood

Dear INZOI Development Team,

I would like to share some observations regarding the current direction of the game and offer feedback that I believe could help strengthen INZOI’s long-term potential.

At its core, INZOI aims to be a large, open-world life simulation experience. However, if future development continues to focus primarily on areas similar to Canvas Town, the gameplay risks becoming limited—small neighborhoods, restricted space, and very few locations where players can drive or freely explore. Even within the community, many players feel that this approach may eventually make the game resemble The Sims 4, which is not aligned with INZOI’s original open-world vision.

For this reason, I believe that Dowon and Bliss Bay should be prioritized in your development roadmap. These towns have the potential to support broader exploration and offer a more expansive environment, which players expect from an open-world simulation game.

To improve the overall experience, I kindly recommend considering the following:
• Increasing the number of empty lots in Dowon and Bliss Bay
• Adding more playable and buildable areas
• Positioning homes and neighbors closer together to create a more interactive community layout
• Focusing development efforts on making these larger maps more detailed and functional

These adjustments would not only expand creative possibilities for players but also better reflect the open-world identity that INZOI aims to deliver.

Lastly, there is an important request repeatedly expressed by the community: we strongly wish to see a Turkish language option added to the game. There are thousands of comments on Steam from players asking for Turkish support, and we truly hope this will be considered.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work on this project. Many players, including myself, love INZOI and hope to see the game develop in a direction that fulfills its full potential.

Sincerely,
A concerned INZOI player

Hello!

The Canvastown (neighbourhood) does worry me a bit; I’d like to know if “optional” means “optional right now, might be the only way in the future”, as both open world, vehicles etc would become meaningless

The feature has great potential as an add on, sort of a Create A World in small scale, but it would need to be bigger in my opinion.

Ideal would be for this to be just an optional feature in case we want to share with each other / play in low specs, but Inzoi’s core open world adventurous identity is something I am attached too, and the idea of it becoming a neighbourhood system like sims4 makes me uneasy.

I hope we can get some clarification on discord next week, too!

its pretty small and dull looking, i doubt i’d use it anytime soon. i prefer big explorable maps with their own themes like we’ve been getting. i hope they make more like that instead and continue to add new lots to the existing ones.

The community lynched me on Discord for saying this. @svujgeoejoxzgctxkd

Don’t worry, standing firm outside the mainstream always comes at a cost. What gives it meaning is your constancy (and consistency), the measure of your loyalty to it. When the mainstream loses its illusions, it will return to the starting point (the place where you remained.)

I like the idea of Canvas Town and think it could be fun, especially if it’s not the only town.

I haven’t played much of Dowon, but wish they would expand Bliss Bay. I think it would be pretty easy to increase the size of that map and expand outward for more housing options, etc. If they’re still auto-generating in random families, I really wish that would stop. Never completely filled my cyberpunk town, so never got to play it. I’d rather have that than anything else in the game. I don’t understand why they don’t see that they make it difficult to play this game and that won’t keep players, or bring more in.

Lastly, again an issue I have, is KJun posts these updates on Discord, but ignores InZoi’s own forums. That seems like a slap in the face. This is their own forum, not a third party app. Why do we not get official updates here? At the very least, KJun’s letters could easily be copied over here.

I agree! This is the first I’ve ever heard of this Canvas Town thing and have no idea what it’s about. If KJun posted on this official forum, or at least copied posts to here, then more players would be able learn about his ideas and expectations for the game.

I would like that. It only makes sense where it’s their own forum. They could actually promote it on Discord and encourage people to move over.

I have the same opinion, even though I do like the opportunity to build and personalize/share a neighbourhood. It is just too small and slightly concerning that this might end up replacing the city designs as we’ve had up until now, for the sake of optimization

I agree, I think it would be nice to have these big discussions over here

I think Canvas Town needs to be a little bigger and livelier than it was presented, and definitely made as an option. The idea may be interesting today, especially because it is new today, but my concern is that the game develops too similarly to the neighborhoods of The Sims 4. We already have a The Sims 4 and we don’t need any more: Inzoi has the possibility of being a large open world. I also think that the Fate Engine function could be of interest, but that it shouldn’t be limited to randomizing a character into a random family because this is something the player can already do. More depth should be added, more storylines, a plot to follow and objective quests that can determine a real story in “fate”. In summary, I would like a more guided game mode when it comes to “Fate Engine”. Thanks and sorry about my english

It sounds interesting but only if this is optional. In the video it looks really tiny and would probably be only good for very specific gameplay styles. But even for these I think it is really too small. At least double of the size shown in the video would be good.

Nevertheless I really hope it stays optional. As having such small areas only without loading screens is one of the (many) reasons why Sims 4 never became a true successor of the Sims 3.

I sincerely hope that this will be an optional extra, and not ultimately replace the open world, which IMO is fundamental to this game. As others have said many times, we do not need a TS4 replica. The claustrophobic world with constant load screens killed that game after TS3, many of us do not want this game to go backwards too.

Unfortunately if the biggest concern is optimising Inzoi for playability on consoles and low end hardware, this is likely to lead to unwelcome changes down the line.

They already did this to the game, after a certain distance the zoi and cars disappear, so it seems like there is no one in the distance while in the game. They called this system nanite. It has negatively affected my gaming experience. There are pop-ups now. @SmallArchangel even Know better. :right_arrow: @GDfromRivendell

Don’t confuse the terms, this is called spawn/despawn, and it’s actually even different from the maximum render (visibility) distance. Nanite is about something else entirely and inZOI Team has almost no relation to this technology, since it is built into the engine by default by Epic Games themselves.

I didn’t know sorry, well ,Will we be able to restore this situation? Or has it remained like this? This feature started with the October update. There are no cars or zoi in the game at long distances. @GDfromRivendell

I think you can make a mod of this Data Asset and see what changes. The fact is, the game spawns as many Zois as possible near you, so that it feels like the city is crowded. But since the streets are sometimes very long, and Zois need to be kept closer to you rather than spread out over 200 meters, some moderate distances are required.

Right, This situation doesn’t feel realistic or lively. The first times of the game felt more lively to me. Because even 200 meters away, a car or a zoi was walking towards me.

Yes, but now those 20–30 cars/Zois that used to move far along the route are almost right in front of you or inside a building (where buildings often used to be empty). And handling more than 20–30 on screen is already difficult for the CPU/GPU (at least until the upgrade to 5.6.)

“I think if we turn off the rendering, we can see further away,” someone said. Is this true? @GDfromRivendell
