[10.16.26] Your Feedback and What We’re Working On

Thanks @Kjun for the updates and communication, even when there isn’t much information to share, I appreciate it that you continue to update us on Friday.

I am very happy to finally be able to lock Zoi’s out of rooms and I am glad to see I won’t lose clothing when I change ages.

I am also glad you added the Zoi’s likes/dislikes to CAZ, and the ability to assign relationships to the Zoi’s in my household before creating them. These are all small things, but they greatly improve the players ability to just jump into the world with a story in mind. Especially if you have a troublemaker, you may want their relationships to all start negatively you know?

To expand on that idea I would suggest allowing skill levels to be set in CAZ. If I am making a fast talking car salesmen, being able to start a Zoi with maxed out rhetoric allows you to start right in the story you want.

The flight mod does have me wondering when ppl will make the magic carpet. It is nice that you are making mods more accessible, I am hoping the mod management includes making sure Mod creators are honest about their AI usage. Players need to know so they can decide based on the creators mod history and type of mod, if they want to risk it in their game.

Starting this week, we’re focusing on improving the game’s core features. We’ll continue refining the autonomy controls introduced in the latest update. For example, we’re working on behaviors that let Zoi place food appropriately, sit down, and eat.

Since you mentioned core features, I’ll just shamelessly plug my post about making emotions like genius “change the actions” of Zoi’s and not their ability to learn skills faster. In short I suggested making personalities and traits dictate a Zoi’s actions and responses to a player instead. The post was here, its pretty short, it only gets long if you read the “example” I gave of how the system could work. For building, we’re improving free placement so objects can be placed outside lots, and we’re testing lot editing. I can’t yet promise that lot rotation, lot relocation, and additional residential lots will all be ready within the remaining development time.:man_bowing:

Sounds interesting, I do look forward to more building freedom. But I must admit building is rather clunky as a whole and I believe it is going to just need some dedicated TLC to fix it. Things like curtains and rugs fall right into Sims 4 issues of having to buy or recreate the same curtains and the same rug, just at a different size b.c the idea to just let players adjust things with a pull and drag feature are not implemented. I understand why these features are not added for objects zoi’s interact with, but I don’t understand the logic for non interactable objects.

Walls not being allowed to be different heights, stairs having very strict rules about placement, centering used textures in wall art requires the usage of sliders instead of the simple mouse drag, and roofs still being a bit wonky on some homes.

Currently build mode just feels like the 10 year old sims 4 build mode before it had any polish to make it more easier, with only a few new ideas like the color wheel/textures sprinkled in. Thus it suffers the exact same issues as Sims 4 build buy had.

We know that not being able to save family presets has been frustrating. Development is in preparation, and this feature will take time to complete. We’ll do our best to share its progress before the end of the year.

Thank you, I am looking forward to this feature. I like populating the world with Zoi’s I created (like a rival family to my played family) so being able to save an entire family greatly speeds up my set up time so I can just hop in and start playing the game faster.

For CAZ, we continue to hear your requests for height sliders, appearance changes across life stages—including adolescence—and more options for combining bangs. I’m sorry we haven’t made enough progress on these yet. We’ve also noted your requests for family presets with situational outfits, strollers, and more detailed body shape sliders

I understand the struggles of the height sliders, I really want height sliders, but I also don’t want the quality of interactions to become sloppy b.c of it. Hugs, kissing, and hand holding all looking odd b.c of height issues. And clothes just clipping through our chunky Zoi’s body I consider unacceptable from strictly a professional side (mods don’t count here), so I wanted to say that a compromise is welcomed.

Most games I’ve seen don’t emote different heights well, especially when players have a large range of freedom with the heights, so I’d suggest things like preset heights 3 sizes.

Shortest 4’0ft to 4’8ft
Medium 5’0ft to 5’8ft
Tallest 6’0ft to 6’8ft

And each template shares the animation that allows them to interact with each of the different heights. I don’t know.

In regards to getting clothes to fit, I might look at how Blade and Soul handled their outfits to prevent larger bellies from clipping through a shirt. They were terrible when addressing height issues and emotes with other characters, but they were pretty solid on making many outfits (not all) fit well on the different sizes (both width and height wise).

The different ages looking different I really hope you guys can figure that out. It will be amazing if you can.

I am also hoping you guys can figure out the bangs, I’ve seen games that had a bang section and you just apply it to any hair you want Not sure if that is possible here though.

Thank you again and looking forward to the future.
