So when we think of an animation that’s one millisecond long (lowest possible setting) and one that’s 10 milliseconds long (highest possible setting) long.

And the tooltip says ‘Lower values improve performance while higher values result in smoother animations’.

I think maybe the lower value ‘skips’ steps in the animation = better performance
And the higher value plays all the steps = smoother(?)

Yeah, but I think what the confusion might come from is what “performance” refers to, since it doesn’t specify.

Does “improves performance” refer to game performance or animation performance? Because if it refers to animation performance, then better animation performance certainly sounds like more accurate and better physics. If it refers to game performance, then that would mean lower values make the game run better because the physics aren’t pulling so many resources.

I just know that everything I’ve read says lower ms = better and more accurate physics, so this doesn’t make sense to me

I do know that lower latency means better performance in general with gaming, because higher latency = more calculations, but worse FPS, so the goal is usually to find the lowest possible to improve things…

Any new informations? I’m having the same issues with these 3 hairstyles and my game is mod free. Simulation setting is set to on.

If you still have this problem I recommend resetting the engine.ini file. After that try starting a new save and see if that fixed the problem.
It worked for me at least.
