Sometimes objects placed on surfaces (tables, shelves) end up on the floor (Edit by user Lenny: Poll added)

  • Game Version:0.3.3

  • Platform: Steam windows

  • Mods: active

  • Issue Date: 28.08.2025

  • Details: This is a very old bug. I have been seeing it since the game was released. At the beginning, it was more common, now it is less common, but it is still there. If you place objects on surfaces (tables, drawers, lower cabinets and etc), then in some of the save loading it ends up on the floor. And you have to place them again. It is very annoying, it would be great if it was fixed.

YES, thank!

(old save/fully updated/no mods)

Disclaimer:
I don’t know if there is another post about it, I tried the search, but didn’t find one. If so, plz merge.

Objects placed on surfaces sometimes clip under the table after reloading the save.
I think it happens more often if we place them with ALT, not quite sure though.

Poll is set to anonymous

Does this happen in your game too?
  • Yes, it still happens in my new save
  • Yes, it still happens in my old save
  • No, it doesn’t happen in my new save
  • No, it doesn’t happen in my old save

Hi @LennyOgg , I’ll merge this thread with the existing one since it’s the same issue: Sometimes objects placed on surfaces (tables, shelves) end up on the floor. I’ll be closing this post for now. Thanks.

For me it now nearly never happens. It did though in the past. I am currently playing in several saves created after the October update thus I cannot tell for the old ones at the moment.

Since then it happened only once with the food like in your screenshot @LennyOgg.

What happened 2 or 3 times though is that the baby clipped through his crib and was laying under it on the ground but this could be a different issue. Nevertheless this magically resolved itself after reload.

After release this happened frequently, almost every time. Since October the clipping has happened only once for me, in my oldest save. Seems to be getting better, hopefully completely solved after the next update and hotfixes.

This has happened in my most recent game, which I started after the Cahaya DLC but before the halloween update.

I find it is most likely to occur when I place several items on a desk, for example, in close proximity (I like clutter). It doesn’t seem to matter whether I use Alt to place or not.
