Items placed with ALT don’t stay in position after saving & reloading

  • Game Version: 20251103.8469.W

  • Platform: Steam (Windows)

  • Mods: Removed — but previously used mods from the in-game tab > the issue occurs even without any mods

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System:
    OS Version: Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.6584)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super Aero 12GB
    CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 9 7900X3D + MSI MAG CoreLiquid E360
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast RGB 32GB

  • Steps to Reproduce:

    • Go to Build Mode
    • Select any item (either a default Inzoi item or a mod item)
    • Place the item and adjust it’s position using ALT
    • Confirm the placement after moving or tilting it while it’s red highlighted
    • Save the game and reload it
    • Observe that the item has either fallen through the surface (e.g. countertop, table, shelf, or desk) or reset to it’s default position instead of keeping it’s adjusted placement
  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.

    • It happens in all my save files — both new games and continued ones.
  • Details:

    • When placing items while holding ALT — even when the items are red highlighted — they stay exactly where you position them. However, after reloading the game, these items often fall through countertops, tables, or shelves depending on where they were placed. This issue has been present since the start of the Inzoi Beta and affects both regular Inzoi items and mod items (from the in-game mod tab).
    • You can usually find the items on the floor if you remove the object they were placed on, but it’s quite annoying since you might not remember what was placed where. Items that fall under countertops are especially hard to spot, and if they end up under a normal desk or table, you can’t pick them up because the game selects the desk or table instead.
    • Additionally, some items — especially mod items from the in-game tab — don’t only fall but also reset to their default position. For example, if you place a standing lamp and slightly tilt or move it, after reloading the game it snaps back to its original straight position.
  • My Personal Note:

    • It’s really nice that you can clutter items freely with ALT placement on shelves, tables, or desks, but it’s super frustrating because while you’re able to place items that are red highlighted and tilt them however you like, they just reset after reloading the game or fall through the surface anyway.

For example, imagine you’re decorating your kitchen: you place a microwave and a coffee machine on the countertop and there’s a bit of space left where you want to add a small plant. The plant is red highlighted and you can’t place it so you hold ALT to place it freely — it looks great and doesn’t block anything. But after reloading the game, that little plant ends up on the floor (hidden under the countertop), even though it wouldn’t have interfered with the microwave, coffee machine, or any gameplay at all.

I know that objects usually aren’t meant to be placed while they’re red highlighted, but in this case, it’s mostly small decorative items like candles, plants, or books that wouldn’t affect anything. I also know that shelves have specific snap slots, but being able to slightly tilt or offset items makes setups look more natural and aesthetic. It’s purely visual — nothing that would break gameplay. Since the game already has a free placement (ALT) feature, it would make sense for it to remember those adjustments instead of resetting or dropping the items after saving and reloading.

I’ve only had the ALT glitch happen to 1 object in my game—the World Globe. I randomly found it underneath a dresser I had placed it on. But since then, I haven’t had this happen.

I wonder what triggers it.

I have the issue with basically everything, when you place things with ALT and they’re red > issue happens. Maybe I should mention it’s when items are highlighted RED that they reset even tho I’m able to place them.

Highlighted red before pressing ALT? You shouldn’t be able to place objects that are still highlighted red after pressing ALT, or so I thought.

If you mean objects that are highlighted red before pressing ALT, but then become placable after pressing ALT, I’ve still only had this issue happen with the one item  I do that often to fit a lot of objects on a single dresser or desk.

Let’s say you want to clutter a shelve with it’s default slots that are working totally fine but you want to tilt the decoration items slighty, for “aesthetic” reasons, they turn red and you can’t place them which makes no sense to me. But when you’re holding alt, you can still place them. It doesn’t affect gameplay at all by the way.

Sometimes while cluttering, Items are able to be put on certain slots on tables but when you’re tilting them slighty (in any direction) they turn red BUT you can place them while they’re red while holding ALT. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
