It needs a feature to define what's 'indoors' manually.

Or it needs a feature to distinguish between ‘private’ and ‘public’ spaces within a building.

Take the Gaya Apartment in Dowon, for example. The 1st-floor entrance is a public space, and my Zoi only recognizes her specific unit in the entire building as ‘home’ (and takes her shoes off if that feature is enabled) once she’s actually inside her unit.

But with custom buildings, this feature is totally missing. So even if I’ve designed a space to look and feel like a public lobby, Zois will just take their shoes off the second they walk through the main entrance.

And don’t even get me started on how the elevators in pre-built lots work completely differently from the ones I can place in build mode.

I just want to make a penthouse in a tall building my Zoi’s home, but right now, she acts as if the entire building is her house the moment she steps inside. This is a feature that absolutely needs to be added.

Great idea! I would also love if they gave us the same elevators that are used in premade building in buy mode

This would also prevent Zois from vacuuming crop fields outside the house.
Good idea.

LOL it made me laugh when i saw that in game. The funny thing is if you directly click on the ground/grass outdoors the option to clean is disabled but when they have the vacuum or broom they can still clean outdoors. They need to know the boundaries of what is indoors and outdoors / public and private properties

Yeeeesss exactly! It feels like the core mechanics of this feature wouldn’t even be that hard to implement.

Just need to be able to select an entire room in build mode, and have a simple UI pop up to choose between applying something to the ‘indoors’ or the ‘outdoors’. That would let the user handle each room individually.
