[Suggestions & Feedback] From a Late 90s Sim(ulation) Player

[Updated: 2025 October 22]

Hello Creators and Staff!

Some of these might have been suggested repeatedly already, and I would apologize in advance if it’s redundant. I will treat this post as my personal digital notepad where I can list down comments and/or ideas, hoping to be taken into consideration by the Dev Team. I will do my best to update and add more as I play along. My latest suggestions and feedback are dated, and will start with the most recent observations.

Thanks for reading! :pink_heart:

PHOTO/VIDEO CAPTURE FEATURE

  • Zois Looking at the Camera: Please add the option to have Zois look at the camera. As of now, the camera angles I could do are very limited since we cannot adjust their gaze, making it seem to be wasteful in PC resources if it’s not fully maximized. If we cannot direct the subject (Zoi) to look at a certain direction and angle, then it’s not much use to me, personally.

Believe me when I say that there are some of us who would dedicate a good amount of time taking pictures of the Zois and posting them elsewhere on the internet as part of a curated social media feed, or as part of story-telling. This may be a huge ask, but this is going to be a game changer for storytellers, considering how we can already play with lighting and such. This could also help market the game if we are able to take really good pictures and sharing them across different social media platforms showing how immersive it could be. Great photo composition and graphics always entice others to try out a product. I don’t see how this will be any different. Plus, it’s free marketing from Creators. Who’d say no to that, yeah?

GAMEPLAY BEHAVIOR:

1. Clothing Behavior

  • Outerwear Indoors: In addition to removing shoes indoors, please make it possible for Zois to also remove outerwear when inside. Seeing them wearing full winter gear indoors breaks immersion. This should also optionally apply to fashion accessories—Zois don’t need scarves (btw, please add this accessory!) or hats while inside their homes. It would be great if an object could be assigned as a toggle point where players can switch this on and off.

  • House/Lounge Wear: While this may not be as common in the West, it’s quite typical here in the East. We don’t usually wear the clothes we wore outside (work, school, park, etc.) inside our homes upon returning. We change into lounge wear—like a cozy cotton shirt and shorts because it’s warm where I’m from—outside clothes are considered dirty and need washing after a day’s use. Also, outfits we wear for socialization / going outside our homes are only meant to be worn when going out, and never worn for lounging around the house. It would be wonderful to see this reflected in the game by adding a toggle on the coat hanger or clothing shelf object, allowing Zois to change into their “Sleepwear” upon returning home.

  • Sleepwear Behavior: Please don’t have Zois automatically change out of their pajamas upon waking up. It’s inconvenient when they get up in the middle of the night just to use the bathroom—changing into everyday clothes, using the toilet, then switching back into sleepwear afterward. As a compromise, have them automatically change into Everyday/Summer/Winter clothes (depending on the weather) only when going out the front door.

2. Bathing Behavior
Having both blur and towels on during bath time is excessive and unrealistic. If the concern is modesty, this current approach feels too conservative. Since in-game skins already include gray coverings, perhaps make those default coverings a few shades darker to better match available skin tones, rather than using the pale gray. Keep the blur for children, of course.

  • Regarding towels—please don’t remove them entirely if bathing behavior is changed. Have Zois wear towels after bathing and before leaving the bathroom instead of appearing fully clothed right away. It breaks immersion and feels unnatural; realistically, fresh clothes would cling to damp skin and wet hair—quite unpleasant.

3. Driving/Mount Behavior
Many have likely suggested this already, but when using mounts to travel in Auto Mode, please allow an option to skip the cutscene. Personally, I enjoy auto-driving with my Zoi—it’s relaxing, and the vehicle moves slowly enough for the world to load naturally. To accommodate all players—whether they have high- or low-end PCs—add a feature to adjust graphics settings specifically for this. The game is already “open world,” so this flexibility would enhance the experience.

  • Mount Summoning: Having vehicles appear in the middle of the road is unacceptable. It feels like dealing with drivers who don’t use turn signals. It’s especially awkward when Zois want to wash, repair, or take selfies with their cars in the middle of traffic. Please have mounts spawn at the side of the road instead. Since each lot already seems to include a private car or orange taxi spawn point, this can be tied to the property by designating a nearby parking spot or curb for calling mounts.

  • Going to School: I’m glad this feature exists, but I’d love for roommates or family members to carpool.

  • Meetups: If the inviter owns a mount, it would be a lovely touch if they could pick up the invitee and travel together as a group to the event or date.

4. Schedule Feature
This feature has great potential! I’d love to see an additional “Household Schedule” alongside the existing personal one. The household version would reflect all scheduled activities within that home—whether it’s roommates, couples, or families. This could also extend to a carpool system, letting parents drive kids to school before heading to work, or friends share rides to concerts, sports, or classes. It would make gameplay feel more cohesive and realistic.

  • Flexible Scheduling: The option to edit schedules is already there, but it could be improved by allowing multiple activities for each Zoi. Right now this is not possible. If my Zoi is enrolled in university, they cannot take a part-time job which, in a way, breaks immersion and realism. Now as an example, a Young Adult (YA) Zoi who attends university but also works part-time might have this setup:

M-W-F: 09:00 - 17:00, Youngsung University
T-Th-F: 09:00 - 19:00, Dowon Deli

If the part-time job requires a certain number of shifts per week, the player could rearrange days for that Zoi (e.g., F-Sat-Sun) to accommodate other activities such as swim lessons, taekwondo classes, talks, seminars, or competitions. Full-time work or school would take precedence, while optional or flexible tasks could be arranged freely—like fitting puzzle pieces in a timetable. This realism would make scheduling far more engaging and keeping the Zoi as busy (or not) as possible.

BUILD FEATURE:

1. Individual Auto Indoor/Outdoor Lighting
Please include auto lights for indoor lighting by default. Lights will auto-on when Zois enter that room, and then automatically shuts off when no Zois are present or when they go to bed. Please add an additional option to “Always Keep This Light On” for certain light fixtures, even when a Zoi chooses to “Turn Off All Lights”. The only way to disable that particular light is to manually toggle it off.

For Outdoor Lights, maybe add in the script that private lots will automatically light up when the in-game time reaches 6PM / 18:00. Same as above, retain the option for players to manually toggle the lights.

2. Weather Sensitivity:
Make air conditioners functional by adding a comfort or happiness buff when placed and active during summer. The same could apply to the retro fan object. Please also add to heaters positive buffs during winter. To keep it simple and immersive, they don’t need manual on/off switches—just automatically affect comfort levels while increasing the household’s power bill.

3. Mixed-Use Buildings / Apartments / Community Lots
I’m currently playing in Dowon, and I think mixed-use apartments would be a great addition. It’s not uncommon to see a 24/7 convenience store, laundromat, or café on the ground floor with apartments above.

While we can edit existing community lots, I’d love to see officially supported mixed-use community lots in the game. Personally, I’m eager to build a library-coffee shop hybrid for my university students—it would fit perfectly into Dowon and become a local favorite.

I would love this too, indeed!

The moment my Zoi stepped inside the AR Library in Dowon, I knew I had to make it into a library/archive/coffee shop, or make one similar to it at the Aram Estate lot was it? The empty lot east of the school.

I appreciate all your ideas, especially those about changing clothes.
Even in Italy, almost everyone has comfortable clothes for home and clothes for going out, as well as shoes (usually slippers at home), and you change when you enter/exit.
I also hate school backpacks :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: they should ONLY be worn with school clothes, but my Zois keep them on their shoulders even when they change clothes.

Now I can’t find the photo anymore, but sometimes when they get out of bed a little late for school they still have their pajamas on but already have their backpack on their shoulders

Backpack and pajamas

This is a funny bug. They must have something very valuable inside their backpacks if they’re just heading to bed. :joy: But if they’re late for school, then it’s funnier. I’ve seen people in their PJs when I was still in university so this is so real.
