Multiple crashes after [v0.3.6] Hotfix

  • Game Version: PC

  • Platform: Steam windows

    Mods: never used

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System Processor Intel(R) Core™ i5-14400F (2.50 GHz) / Installed RAM 32,0 GB / 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor / Windows 11

  • Issue Date: since the last hotfix on september 11th

  • Error Message: no messages

  • Details: My game randomly crashed 3 times now without any particular reason. I had no problems before the last hotfix.

There is an article about
The game crashes when using Intel 13th or 14th generation CPUs. What should I do?
at the Help Center with a guide and links you could try.

If this doesn’t help, you could check the other threads here about crashing (they should show up below your post)
I also tried to collect the solutions here in the Tips&Guides category.

Hello Lenny,

thanks for your answer. Well, the crashes i mentioned don’t happen immediately after i launch my game. I can play for a while and then it just turns off without any message or reason.

Therefore i am not sure what really could help right now. Because i had no big problems before the last hotfix.

I appreciate the links you sent me but i did not found any helpful solution. I am not a technical expert, just someone who likes to play pc games. *shrugs*

Hi! I want to add that this is happening to me too. The game crashes when I go into a save or into CAZ without an error message, and if I just starts the game again it open without a problem. But then sometimes it crashes again, and repeat.

Although as @LennyOgg pointed out this seems to be recurring to certain intel generation CPUs, I think it’d be great if we keep this post because this wasn’t happening before neither for me nor for OP, and maybe there is something in the 11th update that might be triggering it, so it’s worth looking into. I think it’s important to not shutting down so that devs know that is happening recurrently.

If anybody else is having the same issue, please write it down in this post! That way we can try to track down whatr the issue could be, either our hardware, software or something on the side of Krafton. (Doesn’t look like it’s mods as OP is not using them).

Hello there,

Intel 13th/14th generation CPUs have a known issue related to voltage and frequency management (instability under heavy load). This mainly affects computationally intensive games such as inZOI.

1. Update the BIOS
Go to the website of your motherboard manufacturer (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc.).
Install the latest BIOS version that includes the corrected Intel microcodes.
Caution: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully to avoid any risks.

2. Adjust CPU settings withn Itel XTU
Download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU).
Decrease the Performance Core Ratio by 2 to 3 notches (e.g., from 55x to 53x).
Apply and restart before relaunching the game.
This reduces the voltage spikes that cause crashes.

3. Enable “Efficiency” mode in Task Manager
Launch inZOI, open Task Manager.
Right-click on the game process → Efficiency Mode.
This limits CPU consumption spikes and stabilizes the session.

4. Check Intel microcodes
Intel has released patches (microcodes 0x125, 0x129, 0x12B) to reduce issues related to Vmin Shift Instability (instability under heavy load and voltage). These patches are included in recent BIOS versions.

5. General solutions
Update GPU drivers (NVIDIA/AMD).
Limit FPS to 60 and reduce graphics settings.
Increase the size of the swap file (page file) to avoid memory crashes.
Disable overlays (Steam, GeForce Experience) that may cause conflicts.
