I want to bring this issue to the team’s attention, just in case
Many users report crashes that happen after not playing for a while, when many updates are getting installed all at once.
Like here and here (there are many more).
EDIT: here is another post about it
Please look into this and add it to the Known Issues List so a fix can be found,
it’s a good thing players return to inZOI
@HeinziDerHeld posted possible fixes below and I copied them here.
If you are affected, you might want to try them:

And it crashes suddenly after exiting the mods menu. now and again

I was able to try to reproduce any of the crashes mentioned lately on a different setup which hasn’t played inZOI’s updates after March.
Here’s the system I used for my test:
Game Version: latest
Platform: Steam windows
Mods: none
Hardware Specifications & Operating System: Win11; XMG NEO TGL/M21; Intel Core i7-11800H; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070; RAM 16GB; DirectX 12 Ultimate
Results:
- long shader improvements but no crashes or lags
- lobby was fully accessible without delays, lags or crashes
- canvas didn’t stutter, lag or crash
- old save file: map got updated, everything was still working as intended, no lags or crashes
- new save file: CAZ showed ne issues, loading into the new world didn’t crash, chosen world Cahaya didn’t glitch, lag or crash, Zoi was able to move around and live as intended
Educated guesses what might cause crashes for other players:
- installing numerous updates + patches all at once after not using that setup might corrupt some of the files (-> solution?: verifying game files via steam → How to verify your game viles via steam)
- a lot of driver updates have been released in the past weeks (NVIDIA, Intel, Windows, etc.); these if not installed properly or mix-and-match between old and new drivers for different programs might cause crashes, lags and graphic issues (solution?: auto-updates + manual driver updates)
- corrupted old save files (solution?: Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update + create new save file)
Please feel free to comment with other possible causes and I’ll try to update the list.

Wow, thank you! You are really a Held (= hero)
(Edit: I marked this as solution so affected players can see it at the top of the topic, but I still hope the team looks into it)
No, not as solution, otherwise this post gets closed -.-
I better copy it

This is happening to me currently. I opened the game after a few months of not playing and now it randomly crashes like 45 minutes into playing.
