Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update

Hello Creators,

We’ve received reports that some Creators are still experiencing game crashes even after the October Update and the 0.4.1 Hotfix.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. As crash issues can be caused by various environmental factors, we recommend trying the following steps in order.

1. Check for the Latest Game Update (Mandatory)

Some Creators were found to be running outdated versions of inZOI.
Please update inZOI to the latest version available on your platform.

The latest versions (as of 10/31) are:

  • Windows PC Steam: 20251030.8384.W
  • Mac Steam: 20251030.8387.M
  • Mac App Store: 5.4.16 (0.198) / 20251029.8353.M

2. Remove Downloaded Mod Files

Some mods can conflict with game execution, leading to crashes.

If you have downloaded any mods, please back up the mod files and then delete them before launching the game again.

Mod File Paths:

  • [Windows] Documents\inZOI\Mods\88849
  • [Windows] C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks\~mods

3. Manually Clear PSO Cache (Shader Cache)

Crashes may occur if the graphic shader cache files are corrupted.

  • :warning: CAUTION: Ensure the game is completely shut down before proceeding with the steps below.

A. Clear Shader Cache In-Game (Recommended)

If a pop-up window appears when you launch the game asking, “Do you want to delete the PSO Cache?”, click ‘Yes’ to clear the cache. The game will automatically restart after the cache is cleared. Please check if the issue is resolved afterward.

B. Manually Remove Shader Cache Folders

If the in-game pop-up does not appear or does not resolve the issue, you can manually remove the cache by following the paths below.

  • Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E.

  • Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the paths below into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.

    • Cache File Paths:
      • [AMD]
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AMD\DxCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\AMD\DxCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\D3DSCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AMD\DxcCache
      • [NVIDIA]
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\DXCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\D3DSCache
      • [Intel]
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Intel\ShaderCache
        • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\D3DSCache
  • Locate Cache Files/Folders: In each path, look for folders or files named ShaderCache or PSO Cache, or files within those folders.

  • Delete Folders/Files: Right-click the corresponding folder and files and select ‘Delete’.

  • Restart Game: Relaunch the game to check if the crash is resolved.
    :red_exclamation_mark: Important Note:

    • Manually deleting the shader cache will also remove cached data for other games that share these folders.
    • As a result, the next time you launch other games, the loading time may be longer than usual as the cache is rebuilt.

4. Completely Delete Configuration (.ini) Files

If your configuration files (.ini) are corrupted, the game may fail to launch properly.

  • :warning: CAUTION: Please note that this will reset all your customized settings (graphics, controls, sound, etc.) to default.
    1. Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E.

    2. Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the path below into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.

      • [Windows] C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows
      • [MAC] /Users/inzoitech/Library/Application Support/inZOI/Saved/Config/Mac
    3. Locate INI Files: Identify all files with the .ini extension in this folder.

    4. Delete Files: Select and ‘Delete’ all .ini files within this folder.

    5. Restart Game: Launch the game; the deleted .ini files will be automatically regenerated with default settings.

5. Action Guide for Insufficient Video Memory Error

If the issue occurs alongside an ‘Insufficient Video Memory’ error, it may be caused by accumulated data such as web cache.

Please attempt to resolve the issue using the method below.

  1. Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E.
  2. Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the following path into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.
    • C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved
  3. Delete Folder: Delete the entire webcache_4430 folder.

6. Remove GalleryPost Directory (New)

Crashes may occur if cached or recommended post data becomes accumulated or corrupted.

  • Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E
  • Go to Path: Navigate to the path below and delete all directories within the folder, then restart the game.
    • Documents\inZOI\GalleryPost

If the issue persists after trying all the steps above, please share the details in the Technical Help section of the forum, including your PC specifications and the circumstances under which the crash occurs.

Thank you,
The inZOI Team
