Hey there, welcome to the inZOI forum!

Can you please confirm that you’ve tried every step described in this official guide already? Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update - If not, please do so and let us know if the issue is still happening :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello There,

ok play we it throught:

Point 1&2

Latest version Check and NO Mods

Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the paths below into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.

  • Cache File Paths:

    • [AMD]

      • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AMD\DxCache

      • C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\AMD\DxCache

      • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\D3DSCache

      • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AMD\DxcCache

  1. Locate Cache Files/Folders: In each path, look for folders or files named ShaderCache or PSO Cache, or files within those folders.

Result: No ShaderCache or PSO Cache Folders or files been found in these paths, only files with cryptic number/letter combinations (.parc files)

  1. Completely Delete Configuration (.ini) Files

If your configuration files (.ini) are corrupted, the game may fail to launch properly.

  • :warning: CAUTION: Please note that this will reset all your customized settings (graphics, controls, sound, etc.) to default.

    1. Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E.

    2. Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the path below into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.

      • [Windows] C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows

      • [MAC] /Users/inzoitech/Library/Application Support/inZOI/Saved/Config/Mac

    3. Locate INI Files: Identify all files with the .ini extension in this folder.

    4. Delete Files: Select and ‘Delete’ all .ini files within this folder.

    5. Restart Game: Launch the game; the deleted .ini files will be automatically regenerated with default settings.

Result: The Folder “Saved” doesnt exist in the game files in my steam installation. Does it only exist when ich successfully save a game? As you see in my initial text i don´t reach the point where i could save.

5. Action Guide for Insufficient Video Memory Error

If the issue occurs alongside an ‘Insufficient Video Memory’ error, it may be caused by accumulated data such as web cache.

Please attempt to resolve the issue using the method below.

  1. Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E.

  2. Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the following path into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.

    • C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved
  3. Delete Folder: Delete the entire webcache_4430 folder.

Result: folder deleted

6. Remove GalleryPost Directory (New)

Crashes may occur if cached or recommended post data becomes accumulated or corrupted.

  • Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E

  • Go to Path: Navigate to the path below and delete all directories within the folder, then restart the game.

    • Documents\inZOI\GalleryPost

Result: folders deleted

Result All: Game still crashes after selecting a city

To point 5 & 6
as i uninstalled inzoi in my previous troubleshooting i purged any existance of the gam from my pc, this includes all folders in any path and all Registry entries. Then i did a clean reinstall of the game and the error still exists.

so no surprise deleting this selective folders wouldn´t do much

And my GPU Model has 24GB of VRAM. if it runs out of memory i would be very surprised.

If were any of the public available Troubleshooting guides the solution i wouldn´t be here.

Kind regards

Bombi

@DasBombi ,

There is an error in the path to the ini files in the topic Resolving Crash Issues.

The correct path for the ini files on Windows is

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows

Try removing the ini files from this path as suggested.

@AR_Luna ,

Path to ini files in the topic Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update Step 4, is incorrect.

For Windows, the path should be

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows

Hello there,

got some more details to share.

After the working solution from @DivineManifest i configured the game settings as i had them before, tested again and the game crashes again.

After some testing i found out the game crash only if i turn SmartZoi on, which worked perfectly fine before.

Dont know if this is an knwon issue @AR_Luna

Greetings

Hello @DasBombi,
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

We are currently checking on the crash issue regarding Smart Zoi and you can refer to this topic: Smart Zoi Crashes my Game

We are still figuring out the cause of the issue, and we apologize for the delay. Thank you.

  • Issue Date: 4/14/2026

  • Error Message: None

  • Details: I have recently gotten a new computer, and wanted to load this game to see if it would work, it has more than what the specs are asking for. I have done troubleshooting, and even went in to change my VRAM usage for the game. Went into Settings Graphics and allocated it to make the system use performance as well. Nothing has worked. I realized it could be mods so I went in and deleted all the mods restarted and it still does the same thing.
  • I can load into the Create A Zoi section just fine, but once I get out of Create a Zoi and choose a map it will load and then immediately close the game I looked on the forms and found that they want to delete something in the App Data section but I do not have that either.

I am not sure what else I can do from here. I have even uninstalled it and reinstalled it on another drive.

I have lowered and messed around with all the settings I could possibly think of as well. nothing works even on the lowest of graphics it still does not load.

You should definitely doublecheck if both inZOI mod folders are completely empty, because this has been an issue for quite a long time here in the forum.

There’s a very similar thread with a possible solution for your issue. Feel free to check it out here: Game Crash After choosing an City - #4 by DivineManifest

Hello @Shaybrz , I’ve merged your post into this thread since it relates to the same issue. Thanks!

I checked this path and it does not show any ini files, I checked all locations and no ini files either there was one step I didn’t do I am trying to load this now. Do I delete the Parc files too?

Ok, so I went through and there were no ini files in any of those folders and nothing that specifically said shader cache. I have also always every time I load the game went into settings and cleared PSO cache. But the game does not restart when I clear PSO. I did clear the wbecache_4430, and removed GalleryPost. And I even verified my files, and double checked if I was on the correct update.

**Update, I looked into Smart Zoi and it was on Turned it off and now the game loads. Something with Smart Zoi is crashing the game I guess.
