Mods on Mac (App Store version)

When will mod support be available for the Apple App Store version? There are so many great things in Canvas these days that unfortunately require mods. Or is there an official workaround for using mods on Mac? If so, where can I find it? The game costs the same on Mac as it does on PC, so it should have the same features.
