Door Bug

Is anyone else experiencing that when you (re)place a house from the property presets (or maybe also Canvas), the door permissions get buggy and Zois can’t walk through, even when the door is unlocked?

When I built this lot, I did not set any door permissions at all. After replacing, they were set to ‘People you know’ but none of the household that lives there could walk through them, not even when I set them to ‘Unlocked’.

In the end, I had to replace all doors and they worked just fine, the setting was still ‘People you know’.

After replacing the door in build mode: :white_check_mark:

This reminds me of a similar issue I had, and, if it’s the same as what I’m talking about, I’m not sure if it’s due to door permissions or a general door bug!

I should probably make a separate bug report for this, in case it’s a different issue, but I’ve noticed in every new save, my Zois can’t use the bathrooms on Muscle Beach unless I go into build mode, grab the door, move it around (without placing it), and then put it back in its original spot.

I don’t have to actually delete and replace the door, just wiggle it.

Here is a Video:

I’ve had to do this in every new save since the beginning of the game’s Early Access release. I completely forgot about it (haven’t played in a new save) until you mentioned it. Looks similar to your issue!

I think this is the same issue, I’ll try the wiggling, that’s easier than replacing the doors.
I’ll rename this thread then.

Okay! Not sure if I should still make a separate post for this happening on Muscle Beach in every save or just leave it at this

Maybe you should?
This is a buggy house and affects many players who chose to move their Zois in.
On the other hand these threads will be merged anyway? :sweat_smile:

Definitely have experiened this in the last few months - I uninstall so much, not sure which game files - but if I see it again, I will add here :psycat_thumbsup:

  • Steps to Reproduce:

  • Bugs that appeared after the most recent updates:

  • Previous state:

    • Door X had any door permission setting.
    • The player controlling the main Zoi (homeowner) clicked on door X and selected “unlocked” from the door permission dropdown menu;
    • The player then switched to another Zoi B and clicked on the same door X, opened the dropdown menu, and selected “only me” in the door permissions;
    • Thus, only Zoi B could use that door X.

    Current state:

    • Door X had any door permission setting.

    • The player controlling the main Zoi (homeowner) clicked on door X and selected “unlocked” from the door permission dropdown menu;

    • The player then switches to another Zoi B and clicks on the same door X, opens the drop-down menu, and only the “knock” option appears. Only the main Zoi has access to the door access settings;

    • If the access status of door X is “nobody”. When it is marked as “unlocked”, it remains locked for everyone, including the main Zoi.

    • As a temporary solution, it is necessary to remove the door and put another one in its place.

Hi fabiocabral! I’ll merge this with the other post about the Door Access Permission. Thanks! :blush:

The door permission bug happened to me yesterday too. Except for that I didn’t even change anything about the home. It was the predesigned Dowon Heights Building. My Zois moved there, I played a different family for two in-game days. Then returned and noticed that they were still standing in the hallway right off of the entry, unable to use any of the doors. I was able to readjust the permission except for 1 bathroom door that I had to replace, just like mentioned in the OG post. Seems to be a new issue.

It’s not exactly the same bug. The problem pointed out by LennyOgg is about a loss of door permission settings between saves, which can be fixed simply by swapping doors.

The bug I pointed out, however: swapping (or repositioning) doors doesn’t solve the problem; it happens in old and completely reset gameplays; it occurs with any and all doors placed, new or old; the permission setting is only available to the homeowner when it was PREVIOUSLY available to all residents regardless of their relationship to the homeowner.

Merging my message about the unsolved bug with another problem (which has a temporary solution) will only serve to push the problem into a limbo that will never be resolved.

Hi everyone (@here),
We’ve checked on our end but weren’t able to reproduce the issue.
If the same problem occurs again after the update, please feel free to report it again.

@fabiocabral , just to clarify - when switching to a Zoi who is not the household owner, it’s expected that they cannot change door permissions. In this case, only the “Knock on Door” interaction will appear. This behavior has been the same previously and has not been changed.

Thanks for your understanding.
