So we are supposed to place those buckets filled with candy to unlock the Halloween Deco.
I just placed 14 buckets filled with candy and waited from 5 to 9 and not a single kid showed up.
Please unlock these Items so we can decorate for Halloween, at least a few of them for those who don’t have time for the event.
The update is already so late, why lock all the stuff on top of that?
I believe the season has to be set to ‘fall’ in-game for the event to trigger - have you already done this?
Yes, it is fall in my save.
One person has said that the halloween event doesn’t work with old saves. It seems that you need a new family. I’m still enjoying summer in Cahaya, so I haven’t tried it yet
I have barely had time to run the game and update mods (all 4 of them!) since the update, so not tested any of this yet. Started a new save for the purpose though, so we shall see.
I have read a couple of posts on the Steam forums saying that they were ignoring the halloween event and kids turned up anyway, so that is the exact opposite buggy experience!

I’m playing in Dowon with a save from before the update (actually, I’m trying to play just one single game, we’ll see if that’s possible due to the e.a.). In my game, it’s winter, I placed a candy box, and a girl appeared within the expected time, so the event does work for me under those conditions.
I ended up deleting my old family cause it wouldn’t let me go into it, when I went to make a new game it just kicks me out of the game. I did updates on everything that needed to be done, I haven’t been able to play the game since yesterday, so I’m not happy because I am going to mess the Halloween event!
@fwright83185 Don’t worry, you won’t miss the Halloween event! It doesn’t end until December. Notice posted what to do if your game crashes. Try following those steps. I hope it works for you.
I’ll try testing it out in my old save and see what happens.
It seems I have the same problem…
I started new game, installed the candy, used the cheat codes to go into “fall”, but nothing happens after a few days in game 
Maybe it’s because you cheated the season?
I know that many other people have obtained the event without being in autumn. So I don’t see how forcing the season would be a problem? And if it is, how do we deal with it?..

Hey, so I finally tested this in my old save, and after about 3-4 nights into Autumn, a trick-or-treater did show up! So it’s definitely not an issue with old saves, thank goodness 
The conditions that the trick-or-treating finally worked for me were:
No idea if any of this actually makes a difference or if it was just a coincidence. But the event didn’t happen activate any other night where one of the adults was away during the 5 pm - 9 pm time slot.
And, yes, this was in an old save! A new save is not required
I placed a couple of buckets by the front door in Cahaya, and it worked just fine. I kept giving the kid sweets (candy), and each time I did it unlocked something. I even ordered more from Pocket Market and gave those out. I kept going until the event ended. This was with an old save as well. I’m still playing with the same family.
What always appears to me is the same girl. Every day, hahaha. It’s in Dowon, and on top of that, my Zoi and she don’t get along very well
